# muapi-cinema-director

Turns a creative brief into technical cinematography directives for Veo3, Kling and Luma: framing, camera movement, lighting. Useful when a text prompt has to become a cinematic shot.

## What it does

The skill sits between your idea and the video model. You say "epic hero reveal", it picks a low angle, a crane up and rim lighting. A mapping table inside links emotional beats to framing, movement and light. There is also a dictionary of physical camera moves (`Dolly In`, `Truck`, `Crane`, `Orbit`, `Pedestal`) and optical controls like `Rack Focus` and anamorphic flares.

Before calling the script, the agent expands your raw prompt using a fixed formula: shot type, subject and action, environment, lighting, camera movement, lens effect. The `scripts/generate-film.sh` script takes `--subject`, `--intent` and `--model`. Generation is async, so you poll for the result with the returned `request_id` via `core/platform/check-result.sh`.

Know the guardrails. A single shot should not contain a complex transformation, and contradictory moves like `Dolly In` with `Dolly Out` will fight each other. Each model has its bias: `Veo3` for slow aesthetic shots, `Kling` for character physics, `Luma` for fast action. The skill wraps the `core/media/generate-video.sh` primitive, so without muapi.ai access it produces nothing.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-cinema-director -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/muapi-cinema-director/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-cinema-director -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-cinema-director -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills muapi-cinema-director
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-cinema-director -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --path .opencode/skills/muapi-cinema-director
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-cinema-director -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills/tree/HEAD/.opencode/skills/muapi-cinema-director/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a vague "make it look cool" into a technical shot prompt
- match camera movement to the mood of a scene
- pick the right model for character physics or fast action
- line up lighting and framing so the shot reads as film
- fetch an async generation result by `request_id`

## Example prompts
- Generate a scene: a lone samurai in a blizzard, epic reveal, model kling-master
- Expand the prompt "hero steps out of the shadows" into technical directives and run the generation
- Check the job status by request_id and show me the finished video

# 🎬 AI Cinema Director Skill

**A specialized skill for AI Agents to direct high-fidelity cinematic video.**
The Cinema Director skill translates high-level creative intent into technical cinematographic directives for state-of-the-art video models (Veo3, Kling, Luma).

## Core Competencies

1. **Shot Composition Analysis**: Mapping emotional beats to appropriate framing (e.g., Extreme Close-Up for intimacy, Wide Shot for isolation).
2. **Camera Movement Orchestration**: Directing complex physical movements (Dolly, Truck, Crane) and lens-based effects (Rack Focus, Dolly Zoom).
3. **Lighting & Atmosphere Design**: Specifying temporal and stylistic lighting (Golden Hour, Chiaroscuro, Volumetric God Rays).
4. **Technical Parameter Optimization**: Automatically selecting optimal frame rates, aspect ratios, and model-specific biases.

---

## 🏗️ Technical Specification

### 1. Intent Mapping Table

| Creative Intent | Framing | Movement | Lighting |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **Heroic Reveal** | Low Angle / Wide | Crane Up / Orbit | Rim Lighting / High Contrast |
| **Tense/Uneasy** | Dutch Angle | Handheld Shake | Low Key / Harsh Shadows |
| **Introspective** | Close-Up | Slow Push In | Soft Rembrandt / Window Light |
| **Majestic/Epic** | Extreme Wide | Drone Flyover | Golden Hour / Volumetric |
| **Melancholic** | Profile / Medium | Slow Pull Out | Blue Hour / Desaturated |

### 2. Physical Camera Movements
- `Dolly In/Out`: Physical camera movement on a track toward/away from the subject.
- `Truck Left/Right`: Lateral physical movement.
- `Crane/Jib`: Sweeping vertical movement from a height.
- `Orbit`: Circular movement around a center point.
- `Pedestal`: Vertical elevation change (without tilting).

### 3. Lens & Optical Controls
- `Shallow DOF`: Background blur (Bokeh).
- `Anamorphic`: Horizontal flares and wide-screen cinematic feel.
- `Rack Focus`: Shifting focus between planes within the shot.
