## What it does

The skill compares current market readings with earlier monitoring and prepares a report on changes over the past 24 hours. For Polymarket, it fetches prices and comments from public APIs without authentication, skips resolved markets, and flags moves above five percentage points. The report also includes volume and selected comments.

A selector chooses the platform: an empty value runs both watchlists, while `polymarket` or `kalshi` runs one. You can also provide a single event. The Polymarket watchlist and monitoring context live in `skills/monitor-polymarket/watchlist-polymarket.md` and `memory/MEMORY.md`; the skill reads the previous two days of `memory/logs/` to compare readings. Polymarket responses are processed with `jq`.

The report depends on the watchlist: an empty Polymarket list with no single event produces no report. Keep that in mind when configuring it. The documented Polymarket endpoints are public and need no authentication.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill monitor-polymarket -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/monitor-polymarket/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill monitor-polymarket -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill monitor-polymarket -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aeonfun/aeon monitor-polymarket
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill monitor-polymarket -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon --path skills/monitor-polymarket
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill monitor-polymarket -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon/tree/HEAD/skills/monitor-polymarket/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- track daily price changes across Polymarket markets
- flag markets moving by more than five percentage points
- compare current readings with recent monitoring logs
- gather recent and highly reacted-to event comments
- monitor one event by its slug or ticker

## Example prompts
- Check the Polymarket watchlist and report notable price and volume changes from the past day.
- Compare today's market readings with recent logs and identify new movers.
- Monitor the Polymarket event `us-x-iran-ceasefire-by`.

> - **empty** (`""`) — run **both** platforms from their watchlists.
> - `polymarket` — run Polymarket's whole watchlist (`skills/monitor-polymarket/watchlist-polymarket.md`).
> - `kalshi` — run Kalshi's whole watchlist (`skills/monitor-polymarket/watchlist-kalshi.md`).

Read `memory/MEMORY.md` for context.
Read the last 2 days of `memory/logs/` to compare against previous readings and flag *new* movers (not repeats of yesterday's news).

## Why this skill exists

A table of prices isn't useful. An operator reading this notification wants to answer: **"is there a market worth forming a view on right now, and why?"** Every rule below exists to push output toward that question — suppress noise, rank by decision value, and demand one line of reasoning per alert. This skill covers two venues — **Polymarket** (crypto-native, CLOB + comments) and **Kalshi** (regulated, liquidity-weighted signals) — and dispatches to the branch(es) the selector asks for.

## Dispatch

Parse `${var}` into a platform choice and an optional single-market override, then run the matching branch(es).

```bash
PLATFORM="both"   # both | polymarket | kalshi
SINGLE=""         # optional single event slug (Polymarket) or ticker (Kalshi)
case "${var}" in
  "")            PLATFORM="both" ;;
  polymarket)   PLATFORM="polymarket" ;;
  kalshi)       PLATFORM="kalshi" ;;
  polymarket:*) PLATFORM="polymarket"; SINGLE="${var#polymarket:}" ;;
  kalshi:*)     PLATFORM="kalshi";     SINGLE="${var#kalshi:}" ;;
  *)            # unrecognised prefix — don't guess a venue; fall back to both watchlists
                PLATFORM="both"; SINGLE=""
                echo "unrecognised selector '${var}' — running both watchlists" ;;
esac
```

- `PLATFORM=both` → run the **Polymarket branch** and the **Kalshi branch**, each from its own watchlist, then emit a combined notification.
- `PLATFORM=polymarket` → run only the Polymarket branch (whole watchlist, or `SINGLE` if set).
- `PLATFORM=kalshi` → run only the Kalshi branch (whole watchlist, or `SINGLE` if set).

Each branch below is independently executable — skip the one(s) the selector didn't ask for.
