## What it does

The skill is the single entry point for `mm` CLI operations from MetaMask. It ships a routing table: the agent matches your intent to a command, then reads the matching file in `references/`, where the CLI behaviour lives. Repeatable operational patterns sit in `workflows/`. When an intent spans several domains, the files load one after another in dependency order.

Coverage runs from authentication and wallet lifecycle through balances, ERC-20 and native transfers, plaintext and EIP-712 typed-data signing, raw transactions, chain discovery, market data and token discovery, tokenized real-world assets, AI summaries via `mm pulse`, perpetual futures and funding rates, prediction markets, swaps, cross-chain bridges, DeFi earn vaults and EVM calldata decoding. There is also a path for 402 Payment Required / x402, when an HTTP request or an MCP tool call comes back asking for payment.

Financial operations sit behind server-enforced controls: MFA approval, configurable wallet policies and the guard/beast trading modes that narrow what the agent can do. Check those before the first transaction — set policy with `mm wallet policy set`, read the current mode with `mm wallet trading-mode get`. You need the `mm` CLI installed; the skill documents its surface rather than replacing it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MetaMask/agent-skills --skill metamask-agent-wallet -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MetaMask/agent-skills --skill metamask-agent-wallet -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MetaMask/agent-skills --skill metamask-agent-wallet -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install MetaMask/agent-skills metamask-agent-wallet
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MetaMask/agent-skills --skill metamask-agent-wallet -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/MetaMask/agent-skills --path skills/metamask-agent-wallet
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MetaMask/agent-skills --skill metamask-agent-wallet -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/MetaMask/agent-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/metamask-agent-wallet/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check the active wallet balance before sending funds
- sign EIP-712 typed data from the agent
- transfer an ERC-20 token and follow the request status
- pay for an API that returned 402 Payment Required
- decode EVM calldata into a readable intent

## Example prompts
- show the active wallet balance
- decode this calldata and tell me what the transaction does
- pay this endpoint, it returned 402

Single entry point for all mm CLI operations. Financial operations are protected by server-enforced access controls including MFA approval, configurable wallet policies, and trading-mode guards (guard/beast) that restrict operation scope independently of the agent.

# MetaMask Agentic CLI Skill

This skill documents the `mm` CLI surface for MetaMask Agent Wallet authentication, wallet lifecycle, balance queries, token transfers, message and typed-data signing, raw transactions, chain discovery, market data, token discovery, tokenized real-world assets, AI market and asset summaries, perpetual futures trading, prediction market trading, prediction trade/redeem history, token swaps, cross-chain bridges, DeFi earn/yield vaults, and EVM calldata decoding.

Use the routing table to select the relevant reference file. CLI behavior lives in `references/`. Repeatable operational patterns live in `workflows/`.

## Command Routing

Match the user's intent to a command and reference file, then read the reference before constructing a command. If intent spans multiple domains, load them sequentially in dependency order.

| User Intent | Command | Reference |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Check authentication status | `mm auth status` | [auth.md](references/auth.md) |
| Login in MetaMask Agentic CLI | `mm login` | [auth.md](references/auth.md) |
| Choose a wallet mode and set up policies | `mm init` | [auth.md](references/auth.md) |
| Show current init settings | `mm init show` | [auth.md](references/auth.md) |
| Sign in via QR code with MetaMask Mobile | `mm login qr` | [auth.md](references/auth.md) |
```
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 1a1ca60491503ea3 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
