# merge-open-prs

## What it does

The skill takes a snapshot of open pull requests, or uses the PRs named by the user. It examines changed files and branch relationships, then selects an order that accounts for dependencies and shared changes. A later PR stays tied to the original work set even when new PRs appear.

For every PR, it checks repository merge rules, required reviews, status checks, and the selected merge method. Branch updates happen only when a conflict, dependency change, or repository policy calls for one. GitHub CLI handles the remote work, while local changes stay in a temporary worktree. If required checks are not green, the skill stops and asks for a decision. It then verifies the default branch and reports the result.

- wait for required checks before merging
- report skipped PRs and final branch state

## Example prompts
- Review all open pull requests, choose their merge order, and merge them one at a time.
- Merge PRs `#42`, `#57`, and `#61` through GitHub, checking required statuses after each one.
- Process the open PR set and stop if any item cannot become mergeable.
