## What it does

This skill maps a novel, play, poem, or nonfiction book into connected Basic Memory notes. It sets up schemas for characters, themes, and chapters, seeds known entities, processes the text chapter by chapter, and adds cross-references between the resulting records.

Writing uses `bm_write` and `bm_edit`; reads use `bm_read`, `bm_find`, `bm_search`, and `bm_list`. The workflow also covers project setup, schema notes, and targeted reads of note sections or source line ranges. CLI `find` defaults to page 10, so coverage checks need an explicit page-size decision.

The skill expects Basic Memory and its CLI or MCP tools to be available. Installation varies by platform; for Claude Code it places the skill at `~/.claude/skills/memory-literary-analysis/`.
