## What it does

This skill guides developers through adding Mem0 to existing Python and Node.js repositories. At launch, it prompts you to choose between managed Mem0 Platform and self-hosted Open Source. All edits land on a dedicated git branch, avoiding breaking changes by placing the new logic behind an environment variable like `MEM0_ENABLED=1`.

The integration follows a test-driven development workflow. It inspects documentation, prepares failing tests before altering application code, and outputs state to `.mem0-integration/`. The run can then be verified by triggering `mem0-test-integration`.

Repositories without a backend are rejected during the precondition check. The skill also halts immediately if the git working tree has uncommitted edits.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill mem0-integrate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/mem0-integrate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill mem0-integrate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill mem0-integrate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install mem0ai/mem0 mem0-integrate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill mem0-integrate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/mem0ai/mem0 --path skills/mem0-integrate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill mem0-integrate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/mem0ai/mem0/tree/HEAD/skills/mem0-integrate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- wire Mem0 storage into an existing backend codebase
- scaffold failing test cases prior to implementation
- isolate memory features behind an environment flag
- create integration artifacts inside `.mem0-integration/`

## Example prompts
- Integrate mem0 into this repo
- Add mem0 memory to our backend project
- Wire mem0 into this service using self-hosted setup

  After success, invoke skill:mem0-test-integration to verify in the same

# mem0-integrate

Wire Mem0 into an existing repo with a goal-driven, test-first pipeline.
Pairs with `mem0-test-integration` for verification.
