## What it does

The skill stands up the `mcp-brasil` MCP server, which hands your agent 213 tools, 55 resources and 45 prompts. Questions about Brazilian government data go in plain language: deputies and bills, the Selic rate and IPCA, court cases, campaign finance, wildfire hotspots, hospital beds. Under the hood sits the `mcp_brasil` package with one folder per API — an `httpx` client, Pydantic v2 schemas, constants holding base URLs. The root `server.py` discovers features by scanning for `FEATURE_META`, so nothing gets registered by hand.

Two setup routes. For the Claude CLI: `claude mcp add mcp-brasil -- uvx --from mcp-brasil python -m mcp_brasil.server`. For Cursor and VS Code, drop `.vscode/mcp.json` into the project root. There is also an HTTP transport — `fastmcp run mcp_brasil.server:mcp --transport http --port 8000` serves at `http://localhost:8000/mcp`.

Keys are required for exactly two APIs: `TRANSPARENCIA_API_KEY` for Portal da Transparência and `DATAJUD_API_KEY` for DataJud/CNJ, both free to register. The other 26 answer without one. Tool discovery is tuned with `MCP_BRASIL_TOOL_SEARCH`, which takes `bm25`, `code_mode` or `none` and defaults to `bm25`. Timeouts and retry counts live in `MCP_BRASIL_HTTP_TIMEOUT` and `MCP_BRASIL_HTTP_MAX_RETRIES`. Skip the two registrations and those tools stay silent.
