## What it does

The skill serves as a single entry point for math computations and concept explanations. When you ask to differentiate a function, inspect a matrix, or verify an inequality, `math_router.py` selects the target script and runs it via `uv`.

Computation splits across specialized tools. SymPy handles symbolic math including limits, integrals, ODEs, and matrix decompositions. Z3 checks satisfiability and proves general inequalities, while Pint covers physical unit conversions. Conceptual questions reference bundled topic skills across areas like category theory and topology.

All commands run through `uv run python` inside `$CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/.claude/scripts/cc_math/`. This skill focuses on symbolic and numerical calculations; formal machine-checked verification requires Lean 4 via the separate `/prove` skill.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math -a claude-code
```
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math-unified -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/math-unified/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math-unified -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math-unified -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 math-unified
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math-unified -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --path .claude/skills/math-unified
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3 --skill math-unified -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/parcadei/Continuous-Claude-v3/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/math-unified/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- solve symbolic equations, derivatives, and integrals
- calculate matrix eigenvalues, null spaces, and inverses
- check satisfiability and prove inequalities using Z3
- convert units of measurement with Pint

## Example prompts
- Solve x**2 - 5*x + 6 = 0
- Find eigenvalues of [[2, 1], [1, 2]]
- Is x**2 + y**2 >= 2*x*y always true?
