Designs compounding growth loops, evaluates network effects, and models unit economics. It shifts product teams from linear funnels to product-led loops.

## What it does

This skill focuses on compounding systems rather than linear acquisition. It models viral, content, and sales loops where current users bring the next cohort. It tests model viability using the AARRR funnel and the LTV:CAC baseline, aiming for at least a 3:1 ratio with payback under 12 months.

Execution relies on workspace context. The skill checks `strategy/brand.md` for audience and positioning, `about/me.md` for tone, and `content/ideas.md` for planning. Drafts land directly in `content/<platform>/drafts/`.

Tactical tasks stay out of scope. Page-level CRO and deep SEO audits are handed off to `conversion-rate-optimization` and `seo-and-aeo-strategy`. Applying acquisition loops without proven retention will quickly waste capital.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --skill growth-strategy -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/growth-strategy/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/growth-strategy/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --skill growth-strategy -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/growth-strategy/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --skill growth-strategy -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/growth-strategy/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin growth-strategy
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/growth-strategy/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --skill growth-strategy -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --path skills/growth-strategy
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/growth-strategy/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add manojbajaj95/claude-gtm-plugin --skill growth-strategy -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- design content and viral loops for product-led growth
- calculate LTV:CAC targets and payback horizons
- score expansion experiments using the ICE framework
- audit platform network effects and liquidity thresholds
- map onboarding and activation against AARRR stages

## Example prompts
- Design a content-driven growth loop based on our strategy/brand.md notes
- Audit our PLG activation targets and calculate the required LTV:CAC ratio
- Score the acquisition experiments in content/ideas.md using the ICE scale

# Growth Strategy

## Workspace Context

Read bootstrap context before asking questions: `strategy/brand.md` for brand, audience, offer, channels, tools, constraints, and metrics; `about/me.md` for personal voice; `content/ideas.md` and `content/calendar.md` for content planning. Use legacy product-marketing context files only as fallback. Save generated drafts to `content/<platform>/drafts/YYYY-MM-DD_short-topic-slug.md`, and route durable learnings back to `strategy/brand.md`, `about/me.md`, or `content/ideas.md`.

## Operating Contract

This skill is self-contained for its frontmatter scope: use its local instructions, references, scripts, and assets as the playbook; ask only for missing task-specific inputs; hand off to adjacent skills instead of expanding scope; and return an actionable artifact, decision, plan, draft, or diagnostic.

Growth strategy for compounding growth systems. Use this skill for growth loops, distribution bets, network effects, PLG strategy, and scaling decisions. Route tactical SEO, page/form CRO, and experiment design to the specialist skills.

## Part 1: Core Principles

### Foundational Truths

- Growth follows product-market fit, never precedes it
- Retention is the foundation; acquisition without retention is a leaky bucket
- The best growth is product-driven, not marketing-driven
- Compound effects beat linear efforts
- Every growth channel eventually saturates
- Network effects are the ultimate moat
- Premature growth destroys companies

### Growth Is Not Marketing

Growth is the systematic application of product, engineering, and data to create compounding user acquisition, activation, and retention. It's a mindset, not a department.

---

## Part 2: Growth Loops Framework

### Why Loops, Not Funnels

**Funnels**: Linear. Pour effort in, get results out, start over.
**Loops**: Each cycle generates fuel for the next cycle.
