## What it does

The skill guides agents through handling Celigo Storage folders inside integrator.io. Workflows run through the Celigo CLI, REST API calls, or Celigo MCP tools like `list_storage_items` and `upsert_storage_item`. It covers file uploads, item restores, SFTP folder provisioning for external partners, and running read-only SQL queries via Storage Query.

Items rely on a stable identifier `_id`. Moving or renaming an item preserves this identifier, which prevents broken references across integration flows. In contrast, copying generates a brand-new `_id`. Data transfers bypass the API directly to short-lived S3 URLs, using single PUT requests for payloads up to 5 GB and multipart transfers for larger files.

Deleting a file does not free quota immediately. Bytes shift from `activeUsage` to `recycleBinUsage`, remaining part of `totalUsage` until a permanent purge or until 30 days elapse. When you hit the limit, uploads fail with `STORAGE_QUOTA_EXCEEDED`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add celigo/ai --skill managing-file-storage -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/managing-file-storage/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add celigo/ai --skill managing-file-storage -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add celigo/ai --skill managing-file-storage -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install celigo/ai managing-file-storage
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add celigo/ai --skill managing-file-storage -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/celigo/ai --path skills/managing-file-storage
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add celigo/ai --skill managing-file-storage -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/celigo/ai/tree/HEAD/skills/managing-file-storage/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- grant a trading partner SFTP access to a specific storage folder
- run a read-only SQL SELECT query against CSV, JSON, or Parquet files
- update file contents while preserving its existing _id
- monitor account storage limits and purge items from the recycle bin

## Example prompts
- Check the account storage quota and show how many bytes remain in the recycle bin
- Run a Storage Query to select all records from `/Order to cash/inbound/orders.csv`
- Replace the content of file `_id` `12345` with the newly generated report

# Managing File Storage

Celigo Storage is file storage built into integrator.io: files and folders an account keeps next to its integrations, with no S3 bucket or SFTP host of its own. Four kinds of consumer share it:

- **Flows** read and write storage folders through file steps on a Celigo APIs connection
- **MCP servers** publish a stored file as a read-only resource
- **Trading partners** log in to the Celigo-hosted SFTP file server; each partner account is rooted in a storage folder
- **People** upload, download, and organize files

Two add-ons sit on top: **Storage Query** runs one read-only SQL `SELECT` over stored files ([references/storage-query.md](references/storage-query.md)), and the **file server** gives partners SFTP logins into storage folders ([references/file-server.md](references/file-server.md)).

## How to Run the Steps

This skill names each step by what it reads or changes; the exact calls depend on how you reach the account. Read the one reference that matches your tools -- both follow the step numbers of How to Manage Stored Files below:

- **Celigo MCP tools** (`list_storage_items`, `upsert_storage_item`, `restore_storage_item`, `get_storage_file_download_url`, `cancel_storage_upload`, `delete_resource`) -- [references/mcp.md](references/mcp.md)
- **The `celigo` CLI** (`celigo storage`, `celigo recycle-bin`, `celigo file-server`) -- [references/cli.md](references/cli.md)

Storage Query and the file server have no MCP tools: use the CLI or the REST API.

Listing, searching, reading metadata, downloading, reading the quota, and running a Storage Query only read. Uploading, replacing content, creating folders, renaming, moving, copying, merging, deleting, restoring, and purging write to the account. A purge can't be undone, and neither can a content replace once it finalizes.

## The Storage Model
