## What it does

The skill hands your agent a structured reference on macOS protections and the ways around them. Inside: tables of TCC database paths, bypass categories, historical CVEs, the Gatekeeper check flow, and entitlements that lift SIP restrictions. A separate `TCC_BYPASS_MATRIX.md` maps techniques to macOS versions and protected resource types.

It works as a reference, not an auto-exploit. The agent reads the material and suggests steps: strip the quarantine attribute with `xattr -d com.apple.quarantine`, check SIP state via `csrutil status`, pull data through inherited FDA rights. Some techniques need local access, others need SIP disabled or Full Disk Access already granted. Without that, half the tricks won't land — worth checking what you actually have on the target before you start.

The skill points to sibling modules in the same repo: `macos-process-injection` for dylib and XPC work, `linux-privilege-escalation` for the Unix layer. Install it if you run macOS endpoint pentests and want the material on hand for your agent.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill macos-security-bypass -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/macos-security-bypass/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill macos-security-bypass -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill macos-security-bypass -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yaklang/hack-skills macos-security-bypass
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill macos-security-bypass -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills --path skills/macos-security-bypass
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill macos-security-bypass -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/macos-security-bypass/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- map which paths SIP protects and what you cannot write there
- strip the quarantine attribute before launching an app
- read TCC.db without direct access to it
- pick a bypass technique for a specific macOS version
- use inherited FDA rights through the terminal

## Example prompts
- show me how to bypass Gatekeeper on macOS Ventura
- which entitlements lift SIP restrictions
- how do I read TCC.db if the terminal has Full Disk Access

> **AI LOAD INSTRUCTION**: Expert macOS security bypass techniques. Covers TCC bypass, Gatekeeper evasion, SIP restrictions, sandbox escape, and entitlement abuse. Base models miss version-specific bypass nuances and protection interaction effects.

## 0. RELATED ROUTING

Before going deep, consider loading:

- [macos-process-injection](../macos-process-injection/SKILL.md) when you need dylib injection, XPC exploitation, or Electron abuse after achieving initial access
- [linux-privilege-escalation](../linux-privilege-escalation/SKILL.md) for Unix-layer privesc techniques that also apply to macOS (SUID, cron, writable paths)
- [linux-security-bypass](../linux-security-bypass/SKILL.md) for shared Unix security bypass concepts

### Advanced Reference

Also load [TCC_BYPASS_MATRIX.md](./TCC_BYPASS_MATRIX.md) when you need:
- Per-macOS-version TCC bypass mapping
- Protection-type-specific techniques (Camera, Microphone, FDA, Automation)
- MDM/configuration profile abuse patterns

## 1. TCC (TRANSPARENCY, CONSENT, CONTROL) OVERVIEW

TCC is macOS's permission framework controlling access to sensitive resources (camera, microphone, contacts, full disk access, etc.).

### 1.1 TCC Database Locations

| Database | Path | Controls | Protection |
|---|---|---|---|
| User-level | `~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db` | Per-user consent decisions | SIP-protected since Catalina |
| System-level | `/Library/Application Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db` | System-wide consent decisions | SIP-protected |
| MDM-managed | Via configuration profiles | Push PPPC (Privacy Preferences Policy Control) | Device management |

```sql
-- Query TCC database (requires FDA or SIP off)
sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db \
  "SELECT service, client, allowed FROM access;"
```

### 1.2 TCC Bypass Categories

| Category | Mechanism | Typical Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| FDA app exploitation | Piggyback on apps already granted Full Disk Access | Write access to FDA app's bundle or plugin dir |
| Direct DB modification | Edit TCC.db to grant consent | SIP disabled or FDA |
| Inherited permissions | Child process inherits parent's TCC grants | Code execution in context of FDA-granted app |
| Automation abuse | Apple Events / osascript to control TCC-granted app | Automation permission (lower bar than direct TCC) |
