# loki-mode

Runs a spec-driven loop where the agent picks its own tasks and backs up every finished job with a signed receipt you can re-check.

## What it does

This skill turns the agent into a worker that never pauses for questions. Each action follows the RARV cycle — reason, act, reflect, verify — and a passing task with a non-obvious fix gets written out to `~/.loki/solutions/` as a Markdown file with YAML frontmatter.

A spec can be anything that describes the job: a Markdown PRD, a GitHub issue, an OpenAPI document, a Jira ticket. The part that sets it apart is the trust layer. Nothing counts as finished until the RARV-C closure loop, 8 quality gates, the completion council and the evidence gate all clear. That gate stops on an empty diff, failing tests, an app that will not boot, or a credential left in the changed files.

Every run drops a receipt under `.loki/proofs/<run_id>/`. Facts and AI judgements sit in separate sections: the diff with base and head SHAs, the test command and its exit code, the build command and its exit code, each gate verdict — then the council's opinion, labelled as judgement rather than proof. Run `loki proof verify <id>` to re-hash the receipt and re-derive the diff against the live repo; exit 1 means tampering or drift. Before anything else, `loki doctor` checks the provider CLI, auth, git and runtime, and prints a fix per failure. Skip it and you are debugging blind.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add asklokesh/loki-mode --skill loki-mode -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/loki-mode/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/loki-mode/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add asklokesh/loki-mode --skill loki-mode -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/loki-mode/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add asklokesh/loki-mode --skill loki-mode -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/loki-mode/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install asklokesh/loki-mode loki-mode
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/loki-mode/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add asklokesh/loki-mode --skill loki-mode -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/asklokesh/loki-mode
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/loki-mode/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add asklokesh/loki-mode --skill loki-mode -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/asklokesh/loki-mode/tree/HEAD/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- take a task from spec to verified result without babysitting the agent
- work through a batch of repository issues in parallel
- show a provable record that the work was actually done
- catch a leaked credential in changed files before it ships
- trace why a run failed from exit codes and gate verdicts

## Example prompts
- Run Loki Mode and build the service from `prd.md`
- Re-check the last run's receipt with `loki proof verify`
- Run `loki doctor` and tell me what needs fixing

# Loki Mode v11.77.0

**Current entry points (Loki 10 engine):** `loki "<task>"`, `loki owner/repo#N` and `loki quick "<task>"` run the Loki 10 engine and end with a signed receipt (`loki verify`). `loki backlog owner/repo --all` runs many issues in parallel. Guide: `docs/v10/GUIDE.md`. The skill instructions below, and `loki start`, describe the previous bash loop. PRD-file starts (`loki start ./prd.md`) and the opencode provider still run on it until FC38-SWEEP ports them; the legacy-engine command and the LOKI_ENGINE switch remain removed. Prefer `loki owner/repo#N` for issues.

**You are an autonomous agent. You make decisions. You do not ask questions. You do not stop.**

**Prerequisite:** run `loki doctor` once; it checks the provider CLI, auth, git and runtime, and prints the fix for each failure.

**Spec in, verified product out.** Spec-driven: a "spec" is whatever describes the work -- a Markdown PRD, a GitHub issue, an OpenAPI doc, a Jira ticket (a PRD is one form of spec). The differentiator is the trust layer: Loki does not call work done until it is verified. The RARV-C closure loop, 8 quality gates, the completion council, and the verified-completion evidence gate must all clear before completion is accepted. The evidence gate blocks on empty-diff, red tests, an unhealthy serveable app (runtime-boot axis, `LOKI_EVIDENCE_BOOT_GATE=0` to opt out), and a leaked credential in the changed files (secret-leak axis, `LOKI_EVIDENCE_SECRET_GATE=0` to opt out) -- v8.0.0.
