# code-review

Walks the changed lines of a diff looking for leaked secrets, injection, empty catch blocks and placeholder code. Picks the domain from file paths.

## What it does

The skill expects a diff already sitting in context; the caller supplies it. Paste a PR diff and invoke the command, or have the agent run `git diff HEAD~1` and hand the output over. With no diff present, it asks for one or offers to generate it.

From there it checks the changed lines against checklists. Domain comes from directory paths: `designer/` counts as frontend, `server/`, `rag/` and `runtimes/universal/` as backend, while `cli/` and `config/` get generic checks only. A diff spanning several domains pulls in every matching checklist. The report lands in `/tmp/claude/<path>/reviews/code-review-<date>.md` with a summary table and one entry per finding: file, lines, severity, fix.

Impact analysis is its own step. The skill searches for other usages of changed exports, API signatures and config schemas, then flags consequences nobody accounted for. Findings stay scoped to diff lines, though the full file gets read for context — edits outside the diff are not yours to judge. It needs `Bash`, `Read`, `Edit`, `Write`, `Grep`, `Glob` and `Task`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add llama-farm/llamafarm --skill code-review -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/code-review/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/code-review/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add llama-farm/llamafarm --skill code-review -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/code-review/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add llama-farm/llamafarm --skill code-review -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/code-review/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install llama-farm/llamafarm code-review
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/code-review/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add llama-farm/llamafarm --skill code-review -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/llama-farm/llamafarm --path .claude/skills/code-review
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/code-review/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add llama-farm/llamafarm --skill code-review -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/llama-farm/llamafarm/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/code-review/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- catch hardcoded keys and passwords in a changeset
- check whether an edit breaks callers of a changed export
- spot empty catch blocks and stubs standing in for real code
- produce a markdown review report with severity per finding
- match the checklist to frontend or backend by file path

## Example prompts
- Here's the PR diff, run code-review on it
- Run `git diff main..HEAD` and check the changes for injection and secrets
- Review this diff and save the report with all findings

# Code Review Skill

You are performing a comprehensive code review on a diff. Your task is to analyze the changed code for security vulnerabilities, anti-patterns, and quality issues.

## Input Model

This skill expects a **diff** to be provided in context before invocation. The caller is responsible for generating the diff.

**Example invocations:**
- User pastes PR diff, then runs `/code-review`
- Agent runs `git diff HEAD~1`, then invokes this skill
- CI tool provides diff content for review

If no diff is present in context, ask the user to provide one or offer to generate one (e.g., `git diff`, `git diff main..HEAD`).

---

## Domain Detection

Auto-detect which checklists to apply based on directory paths in the diff:

| Directory | Domain | Checklist |
|-----------|--------|-----------|
| `designer/` | Frontend | Read `frontend.md` |
| `server/` | Backend | Read `backend.md` |
| `rag/` | Backend | Read `backend.md` |
| `runtimes/universal/` | Backend | Read `backend.md` |
| `cli/` | CLI/Go | Generic checks only |
| `config/` | Config | Generic checks only |

If the diff spans multiple domains, load all relevant checklists.

---

## Review Process

### Step 1: Parse the Diff

Extract from the diff:
- List of changed files
- Changed lines (additions and modifications)
- Detected domains based on file paths

### Step 2: Initialize the Review Document

Create a review document using the **temp-files pattern**:

```bash
SANITIZED_PATH=$(echo "$PWD" | tr '/' '-')
REPORT_DIR="/tmp/claude/${SANITIZED_PATH}/reviews"
mkdir -p "$REPORT_DIR"
TIMESTAMP=$(date +%Y%m%d-%H%M%S)
FILEPATH="${REPORT_DIR}/code-review-${TIMESTAMP}.md"
```

Initialize with this schema:

```markdown
# Code Review Report
**Date**: {current date}
**Reviewer**: Code Review Agent
**Source**: {e.g., "PR diff", "unstaged changes", "main..HEAD"}
**Files Changed**: {count}
**Domains Detected**: {list}
**Status**: In Progress
## Summary
| Category | Items Checked | Passed | Failed | Findings |
|----------|---------------|--------|--------|----------|
| Security | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Code Quality | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| LLM Code Smells | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Impact Analysis | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Simplification | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
{domain-specific categories added based on detected domains}
## Detailed Findings
{findings added here as review progresses}
```

### Step 3: Review Changed Code

For EACH checklist item:
````
END THIRD-PARTY FILE 2332f35696b1fe39
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 2332f35696b1fe39 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
