## What it does

The skill handles recurring subscriber hygiene audits between campaigns. It groups contacts into recency cohorts across 30, 90, 180, and 365-day intervals based on last opens or clicks. It also evaluates hard-bounce rates and spam complaints against benchmarks and tracks suppression-list leakage.

Analysis relies on standard manual exports from your ESP, joined via opaque `subject_ref` identifiers without storing raw email addresses. Optional MCP integrations with platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or HubSpot can pull data automatically, but API keys are never required. Structured audit reports and segmented worklists are saved directly to `memory/email/list-hygiene-monitor/`.

This tool does not handle pre-send email authentication or compute EQS veto scores. If you need a pre-flight domain check before hitting send, run `deliverability-qa` instead.

- File: `~/.claude/skills/list-hygiene-monitor/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/list-hygiene-monitor/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill list-hygiene-monitor -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/list-hygiene-monitor/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill list-hygiene-monitor -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/list-hygiene-monitor/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills list-hygiene-monitor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/list-hygiene-monitor/SKILL.md`

## When to use it
- Cohort subscriber lists into 30, 90, 180, and 365-day engagement buckets
- Track hard-bounce and spam-complaint drift against past baselines
- Detect suppression-list growth and identify unhonored opt-outs
- Generate segmented worklists for win-back campaigns and subscriber pruning

## Example prompts
- Watch my list health for retention. Here is my ESP engagement export and bounce report; build the decay cohorts and prune worklist.
- My open rate is drifting down and bounces are creeping up. Trend this against last quarter's baseline and segment who to sunset.
- Run the scheduled hygiene check: recency cohorts, suppression-list growth, and an actionable re-permission worklist.
