## What it does

This skill guides image-based searches for registered design patents using Zhihuiya via `python scripts/zhihuiya_patent_image_search.py`. It covers only design patents marked with code `D`. You can choose between model `1` for intelligent association or model `2` for exact visual matching. The search ranks output by similarity score in descending order.

Queries accept country filters (`country`), Locarno classifications (`loc`), and legal statuses. Public image URLs are required. When you pass a local file path, `scripts/upload_image.py` uploads the asset to generate a temporary link valid for 24 hours. The tool stores raw responses under `linkfox/<YYYY-MM-DD>/<session>/data/` and caches results locally for a full day.

Execution depends on an active key in `LINKFOX_AGENT_API_KEY` or `LINKFOXAGENT_API_KEY`. Missing credentials or depleted computing quota trigger HTTP 401 or 402 errors immediately.

# Zhihuiya Patent Image Search

This skill guides you on how to perform image-based patent similarity searches using the Zhihuiya patent database, helping users identify potentially similar **design patents**. This skill supports design patents only; for utility model patents use `linkfox-zhihuiya-utility-patent-image-search`.

## Core Concepts

**Patent Image Search** uses visual AI models to compare a given product or design image against a global patent image database. It returns a ranked list of similar patents, enabling users to evaluate infringement risks or conduct prior-art research.

**This skill supports design patents only:**

> Utility model patents (model 3/4) are not supported by this skill. Use `linkfox-zhihuiya-utility-patent-image-search` instead.

**Scoring logic**: A higher `score` value means greater visual similarity. When presenting results, sort by score in descending order (highest similarity first) so users can prioritize the most relevant patents for review.
