# lifestyle-scene

Drops a real product into a believable everyday scene — kitchen, bathroom, gym — and keeps the item itself unchanged.

## What it does

The skill writes an image prompt that places a product inside a setting: a marble counter by the window, a stone vanity, an oak desk, a gym bench. It starts by making you describe the item — silhouette, colour, logo, parts — and then repeats that block in every prompt it builds. The generator has less room to redraw your bottle or box however it likes.

Model choice comes next. `gpt-image-2.5-flare` handles new scenes and quick variants; `gpt-image-2.5-sunburst` is the one for labels and small printed text that must survive. The prompt template covers aspect ratio, lighting, depth of field and how large the product sits next to a reference object.

There are three ways to generate. A built-in image tool in your agent is enough if you have one. Otherwise you need `GPTIMAGE_API_KEY` and the bundled `scripts/generate.py`. With neither tool nor key, the skill prints the finished prompt plus a link for running it in a browser. The template asks for the product to fill 35–55% of the frame; push it higher and the shot stops reading as an ordinary photograph.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --skill lifestyle-scene -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/lifestyle-scene/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --skill lifestyle-scene -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --skill lifestyle-scene -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills lifestyle-scene
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --skill lifestyle-scene -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --path skills/lifestyle-scene
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills --skill lifestyle-scene -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/lifestyle-scene/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a plain product shot into a room setting for a listing
- keep the logo and packaging shape intact through generation
- match the crop to Amazon, Shopify or story dimensions
- produce several scene variants to test in ads
- get a usable prompt when no image generator is available

## Example prompts
- Make a lifestyle listing photo: product on a kitchen counter by the window, morning light, 4:5
- Place this product on a gym bench next to a towel, keep the logo as is
- Write the prompt for a bathroom scene and give me the link to run it

description: "Place a real product into a believable lifestyle or in-use scene (kitchen, bathroom, desk, outdoor, gym, bedroom, festive) for listing images, ads and social posts while keeping the product identical. Use for 场景图, 生活场景图, lifestyle image, in-use photo, context shot."

# Lifestyle Scene · 生活场景图

Puts the exact product into a scene that shows who uses it, where and how — the image buyers imagine themselves in.

> Part of [ecommerce-image-skills](https://github.com/xianyu110/ecommerce-image-skills). Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and any agent that loads `SKILL.md`. Default model: GPT Image 2.5 **Flare**.

## Step 1 · Product identity lock (always first)

Before writing any prompt, study every reference photo and write a short **identity lock** for the product. Paste it verbatim into **every** prompt this skill produces, and never let a creative instruction override it.

```text
PRODUCT IDENTITY LOCK (do not change):
- Shape & proportions: <e.g. tall cylinder, rounded shoulders, 26 cm high, 7.5 cm wide>
- Colour & finish: <e.g. matte sage green #8FA58C body, natural bamboo lid>
- Logo & printed text: <exact spelling, font feel, position, colour — e.g. white "AURA" wordmark centred on upper body>
- Parts & details: <lid, loop, buttons, ports, seams, labels, accessories that are included>
- Must NOT appear: <accessories not in the box, extra logos, invented claims>
```

Rules:
- Only use facts visible in the photos or confirmed by the user. If something is unknown (size, capacity, material), ask or leave it out — never invent specs or certifications.
- If the user gave no photo, ask for one (front view at minimum). Text-only generation is allowed but say the result is a concept, not the real product.

## Step 2 · Pick the model

| Use **Flare** (`gpt-image-2.5-flare`, default) | Switch to **Sunburst** (`gpt-image-2.5-sunburst`) |
|---|---|
| New scenes, backgrounds, layouts, many quick variations | The product's logo / label / small text must survive exactly |
| Text-to-image concepts | Local edits: swap background, recolour, remove objects, keep everything else |
| Drafts for the user to pick from | Final hero assets and anything with dense typography |

If an endpoint only exposes other image models, use the closest equivalent and tell the user.

## Platform specs

| Platform | Ratio / size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon secondary images | 1:1, 2000×2000 | Text allowed but keep it minimal; product must stay the hero |
