## What it does

The skill sets up four stage changes: Lead to MQL when a score reaches its threshold, MQL to SQL after a meeting is booked, SQL to Opportunity when a deal is created, and Opportunity to Customer after a deal is won. Its API script uses contact-property conditions. Each workflow is created disabled so you can review it in HubSpot before turning it on.

The package includes `before.py`, `execute.py`, and `after.py` to inspect existing workflows and name collisions, create the new ones, and report their state. You need HubSpot Marketing Professional or Enterprise, Python 3.10+ with `uv`, a configured lead-scoring model, and a deal pipeline with a “Closed Won” stage. The API route also requires a HubSpot token with the `automation` scope; the meeting transition needs a configured meeting integration. Set the score property's internal name in `execute.py` before running it.

HubSpot marks the Workflows API as beta, while the script calls `/automation/v4/flows`. Review the workflows in the HubSpot UI before enabling them. If API creation stops working, the skill also provides a manual setup route.

## Requirements
- Works with: HubSpot

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill lifecycle-progression-workflow -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill lifecycle-progression-workflow -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill lifecycle-progression-workflow -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills lifecycle-progression-workflow
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill lifecycle-progression-workflow -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --path skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills --skill lifecycle-progression-workflow -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/TomGranot/hubspot-admin-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- Move a lead to MQL when its score reaches a threshold
- Advance a contact after a meeting is booked
- Create an Opportunity transition when a deal appears
- Mark a contact as Customer after a deal is won

## Example prompts
- Set up HubSpot lifecycle transitions from Lead through Customer based on sales events.
- Check existing workflows, then create four disabled workflows for the stage changes.
- Show me the conditions for moving an MQL to SQL after a meeting is booked.

# Lifecycle Stage Progression Workflow

Automate the contact journey through the sales funnel with four progression workflows, each triggered by a specific business event.

## Progression Paths

| From | To | Trigger |
|------|----|---------|
| Lead | MQL | Lead score exceeds threshold |
| MQL | SQL | Meeting booked |
| SQL | Opportunity | Deal created and associated |
| Opportunity | Customer | Deal marked as closed-won |

## Prerequisites

- HubSpot Marketing Professional or Enterprise plan
- A HubSpot service key (`HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN` in `.env`; an existing legacy private app token also works) with the `automation` scope (for the API path)
- Python 3.10+ with [`uv`](https://github.com/astral-sh/uv)
- Lead scoring model configured (run `/build-lead-scoring` first) — you need the internal name of your score property
- Deal pipeline set up with a "Closed Won" stage
- Meeting tool or integration configured (for SQL transition)

## Scripts

Script paths are relative to this skill's directory. Run them from your project directory so `.env`, `data/`, and `reports/` resolve there: prefix each path with wherever this skill is installed (`skills/lifecycle-progression-workflow/` in a clone of the repo).

| Stage | Script | Run with |
|-------|--------|----------|
| Before | [`scripts/before.py`](./scripts/before.py) | `uv run scripts/before.py` |
| Execute | [`scripts/execute.py`](./scripts/execute.py) | `uv run scripts/execute.py` |
| After | [`scripts/after.py`](./scripts/after.py) | `uv run scripts/after.py` |

`before.py` inventories existing workflows and checks name collisions. `execute.py` creates all four progression workflows via `POST /automation/v4/flows` — **always disabled, for review before enabling**. `after.py` verifies and reports enabled state.

## Building the Workflow: Two Options

### Option A: Create via the v4 Automation API (primary)
