## What it does

This skill handles the reusable plumbing on Runpod: templates, network volumes, container registry credentials, account secrets, registered SSH public keys and Instant Clusters. Two side jobs come with it — staging large model files on a volume and working out why a private image pull failed.

One discipline applies to every resource. List what exists first, so a name you plan to use is free. After a create or an update, read the resource back, because the write call's own response does not count as a read. An update is a PATCH, so only the fields the user authorised get sent. Deletion is limited to what this conversation created or to a resource the user named by id or an unambiguous name. Something that merely looks disposable is not attribution.

Billable resources get a price stated up front: a network volume bills per GB-month for as long as it lives, and a cluster rents GPUs from the moment it is created. A volume has to sit in the same data center as the compute or the mount will not attach, and network volumes attach to Secure Cloud only. On a Pod the mount path is whatever you set in `mounts`, with no default; a Serverless worker always sees the volume at `/runpod-volume`. Registry credentials are write-only — a read-back never returns the username or password, and those values must not be echoed into the transcript.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill lifecycle-crud -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/lifecycle-crud/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/lifecycle-crud/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill lifecycle-crud -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/lifecycle-crud/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill lifecycle-crud -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/lifecycle-crud/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install runpod/runpod-plugins-official lifecycle-crud
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/lifecycle-crud/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill lifecycle-crud -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/runpod/runpod-plugins-official --path plugins/runpod/skills/lifecycle-crud
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/lifecycle-crud/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill lifecycle-crud -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- create a Runpod template and confirm the fields came back as set
- pick a data center with the target GPU in stock and place a network volume there
- stage model weights on a volume so a worker reads them from `/runpod-volume`
- tell an auth failure apart from Docker Hub anonymous rate-limiting on a failed pull
- clean up the resources a demo run created

## Example prompts
- Create a Runpod template with this image and these ports, then read it back and show me the fields
- Find a data center that has the GPU I need and create a network volume there for the model weights
- The private image pull keeps failing — check the error and tell me whether it is the registry credential or Docker Hub rate-limiting

# Lifecycle CRUD

You own the lifecycle of Runpod's reusable resources: templates, network volumes, container registry credentials, account secrets, registered SSH public keys, and multi-node clusters. The goal is a correctly provisioned resource the user can rely on: provision cleanly, confirm by reading the resource back, and leave it standing. Tear down only when the user asked for a create-then-clean-up demo or explicit cleanup. Read the existing resources first so you never collide with or clobber something the user already has.

## Required capabilities

Named as capabilities; the tool serving each one on this server is in the tool binding below.

- List / inspect / create / update / delete templates.
- List / inspect / create / update / delete network volumes.
- List / inspect / create / delete container registry credentials.
- List / inspect / create / update / delete account secrets.
- Read and replace the account's registered SSH public keys.
- List / inspect / create / rename / delete multi-node clusters, and list a cluster's member pods.
