## What it does

The skill pulls its questions from `references/question-bank.md` and covers one lesson at a time, from 01 to 10. You pick the lesson with an argument (`/lesson-quiz hooks`, `/lesson-quiz 03`) or from a menu. It reads the lesson's `README.md` first, so the tutorial repo has to be checked out with the `01-slash-commands/` … `10-cli/` directories in place. If a lesson's `README.md` is missing, the skill warns you and asks you to check the repo structure instead of making questions up.

Questions come in rounds of two, answer options are reshuffled for every question, and the skill tracks which position holds the correct answer. Feedback lands right after each round: correct or not, and on a miss the right option plus a short explanation. Ten questions, one point each.

Grades run from 9–10 (mastered) down to 0–2 (start the lesson over), with 7–8, 5–6 and 3–4 in between. Before scoring, the skill asks whether you are taking the quiz before, during or after the lesson, because that changes how the result is framed. Whole-tutorial assessment and explaining a topic instead of testing it are outside what this skill does.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill lesson-quiz -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/lesson-quiz/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill lesson-quiz -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill lesson-quiz -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install luongnv89/claude-howto lesson-quiz
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill lesson-quiz -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/luongnv89/claude-howto --path .claude/skills/lesson-quiz
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill lesson-quiz -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/luongnv89/claude-howto/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/lesson-quiz/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check what stuck after the hooks lesson
- spot gaps before moving to the next topic
- take a pre-test before reading the lesson
- refresh subagents or MCP material
- work through missed answers with explanations

## Example prompts
- /lesson-quiz hooks
- /lesson-quiz 03
- Quiz me on the plugins lesson, I just finished it

# Lesson Quiz

Interactive quiz that tests understanding of a specific Claude Code lesson with 10 questions, provides per-question feedback, and identifies areas to review.

## Prerequisites

This skill requires:

- The tutorial repo checked out, so the lesson directories `01-slash-commands/` … `10-cli/` and each `README.md` are readable.
- `references/question-bank.md` present in this skill (the source of all questions).

Before starting, confirm the target lesson's `README.md` exists. If it is missing, do not fabricate questions — warn the user and ask them to check the repository structure (see Error Handling).

**Guardrails:**

- **Never invent questions or answers.** Ask only questions drawn from `references/question-bank.md` for the selected lesson; if the bank lacks entries for a lesson, say so rather than making them up.
- **Score accurately.** Track which shuffled position holds the correct answer for every question and validate each response against it — never guess a score.
- **Confirm timing before scoring.** The pre/during/after choice changes how results are framed; do not skip it.

## Instructions

### Step 1: Determine the Lesson

If the user provided a lesson as an argument (e.g., `/lesson-quiz hooks` or `/lesson-quiz 03`), map it to the lesson directory:

**Lesson mapping:**
- `01`, `slash-commands`, `commands` → 01-slash-commands
- `02`, `memory` → 02-memory
- `03`, `skills` → 03-skills
- `04`, `subagents`, `agents` → 04-subagents
- `05`, `mcp` → 05-mcp
- `06`, `hooks` → 06-hooks
- `07`, `plugins` → 07-plugins
- `08`, `checkpoints`, `checkpoint` → 08-checkpoints
- `09`, `advanced`, `advanced-features` → 09-advanced-features
- `10`, `cli` → 10-cli

If no argument was provided, present a selection prompt using AskUserQuestion:

**Question 1** (header: "Lesson"):
"Which lesson do you want to quiz on?"
Options:
1. "Slash Commands (01)" — Custom commands, skills, frontmatter, arguments
2. "Memory (02)" — CLAUDE.md, memory hierarchy, rules, auto memory
3. "Skills (03)" — Progressive disclosure, auto-invocation, SKILL.md
4. "Subagents (04)" — Task delegation, agent config, isolation

**Question 2** (header: "Lesson"):
"Which lesson do you want to quiz on? (continued)"
Options:
1. "MCP (05)" — External integration, transport, servers, tool search
2. "Hooks (06)" — Event automation, PreToolUse, exit codes, JSON I/O
3. "Plugins (07)" — Bundled solutions, marketplace, plugin.json
```
