## What it does

The skill handles launch telemetry across the T-0 to T+30 window. Prior to launch, pre-launch mode verifies measurement instrumentation across launch surfaces by checking UTM tags and conversion events. During live rollout, it monitors Hacker News rank, points, and comments, calculates a flamewar early warning, checks Product Hunt featured status and upvotes, app store chart rankings, and news mentions.

Under the hood, it executes connector scripts for Algolia, Firebase, App Store endpoints, and GDELT news via WebFetch. Hacker News and App Store connectors operate keyless, while Product Hunt requires a developer token subject to non-commercial terms. If an API key or connector is unavailable, the skill falls back to user-pasted input marked as User-provided to maintain continuous D0, W1, and M1 snapshots.

This tool monitors telemetry and alerts on thresholds, so operational go or rollback decisions belong to separate runbooks rather than this skill.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill launch-monitor -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/launch-monitor/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/launch-monitor/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill launch-monitor -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/launch-monitor/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill launch-monitor -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/launch-monitor/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills launch-monitor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/launch-monitor/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill launch-monitor -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path launch/prove/launch-monitor
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/launch-monitor/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill launch-monitor -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- verify UTM tags and conversion events across launch surfaces
- poll Hacker News ranking, points, and comment counts
- track Product Hunt upvotes and featured status
- compare D0, W1, and M1 actual metrics against KPI targets

## Example prompts
- Monitor my launch: we go live on Hacker News and Product Hunt, check metrics against our D0 and W1 targets.
- Verify launch instrumentation before the release: here are the surfaces and the UTM plan.
- Pull a D0 snapshot: HN rank, PH votes, store chart position, and news mentions.
