## What it does

The skill walks through building attack lattices without getting the dimensions or scaling factors wrong. It covers LLL and BKZ reduction, Coppersmith's method in univariate and multivariate form, the Hidden Number Problem for DSA and ECDSA nonce recovery, knapsack attacks, and NTRU analysis. A lookup table maps each problem type to a technique and its key parameter: small RSA roots need X < N^(1/e), small d needs d < N^0.292.

Code samples use SageMath and fpylll. The univariate Coppersmith section relies on `small_roots` with `X`, `beta` and `epsilon`; the multivariate case shows how to build shift polynomials and the lattice by hand, as in Boneh-Durfee. For HNP there is a function skeleton that assembles a matrix from signatures and looks for the private key in the reduced rows.

Set up the environment first, because the examples assume SageMath and fpylll are installed. Multivariate Coppersmith comes with no polynomial-time guarantee — the methods are heuristic, so verify any root against a signature or a factor of the modulus before trusting it.

## When to use it
- find a small root of a polynomial modulo N
- recover an ECDSA private key from biased nonces
- build the lattice for a Boneh-Durfee small-d attack
- solve a low-density knapsack problem
- pick a BKZ block size for a given lattice

## Example prompts
- help me build a Coppersmith lattice: I know the high bits of p, find the low ones
- I have ECDSA signatures with leaked nonce MSBs — recover the private key
- explain why this matrix is missing a scaling factor

# SKILL: Lattice-Based Cryptanalysis — Expert Attack Playbook

> **AI LOAD INSTRUCTION**: Expert lattice techniques for CTF and cryptanalysis. Covers LLL/BKZ reduction, Coppersmith's method (univariate and multivariate), Hidden Number Problem for DSA/ECDSA nonce recovery, knapsack attacks, and NTRU analysis. Base models often fail to construct the correct attack lattice (wrong dimensions, missing scaling factors) or misapply Coppersmith bounds.

## 1. LATTICE FUNDAMENTALS

### 1.1 Definitions

A **lattice** L is the set of all integer linear combinations of basis vectors:

```
L = { a₁·b₁ + a₂·b₂ + ... + aₙ·bₙ | aᵢ ∈ ℤ }
```

where b₁, ..., bₙ are linearly independent vectors in ℝᵐ.

**Key problems**:
- **SVP** (Shortest Vector Problem): Find the shortest non-zero vector in L
- **CVP** (Closest Vector Problem): Given target t, find v ∈ L closest to t
- **SVP is NP-hard** in general, but LLL finds an approximately short vector in polynomial time

### 1.2 Lattice Quality Metrics

```
Determinant: det(L) = |det(B)| where B is the basis matrix
Gaussian heuristic: shortest vector ≈ √(n/(2πe)) · det(L)^(1/n)
```

---

## 2. LLL ALGORITHM

### 2.1 What LLL Does

Takes a lattice basis B and produces a **reduced basis** B' where:
