# latex-paper-en

A skill for an existing English .tex paper: repairs the build, checks venue formatting, bibliography and language. Useful when the draft exists and the deadline is close.

## What it does

The skill works on a paper project you already have and routes you through modules. There are more than ten: compile, format, bibliography, grammar, sentences, logic, literature, section writing, expression, translation. Each module has a Python script you run as `uv run python -B $SKILL_DIR/scripts/...`, and it prints comments in a LaTeX-friendly review format.

So `check_format.py` compares the layout against a venue's rules, `verify_bib.py` looks for missing and unused citations, `analyze_literature.py` checks whether Related Work reads as a plain list. Separate passes cover the introduction funnel and paragraph roles with a claim-evidence map. Expression polish and de-AI editing leave claims, citations, labels and math alone.

It does not draft a paper from scratch and does not do literature research without a project. Chinese theses belong to `latex-thesis-zh`, and critique or scoring goes to `paper-audit`. Allowed tools are `Read`, `Glob`, `Grep` and `Bash(uv *)`, so the scripts run through `uv` — make sure it is installed.

## When to use it
- repair a .tex build that fails
- match IEEE, ACM or Springer formatting rules
- find missing and unused entries in references.bib
- rewrite Related Work so the research gap is visible
- strip AI-writing traces without changing the claims
