## What it does

The skill acts as a knowledge management specialist. Hand it a batch of support tickets and it pulls out the questions that keep coming back, then writes FAQ sections, step-by-step tutorials with notes on where screenshots belong, and guidance for a video script. It also drafts search-optimized copy and self-service deflection metrics.

Output is markdown: a results block followed by recommended next steps. The instructions push for concrete deliverables, copy-paste templates and real examples rather than generic advice. There is nothing to configure — no API keys, no runtime, just a prompt file the agent reads.

Six platforms are listed and each has its own install path. GitHub Copilot uses `gh skill install`, everything else goes through `npx skills add`. Mix the two up and the skill lands in a directory your agent never scans. After installing, check the file is where you expect it: on Claude that is `~/.claude/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OneWave-AI/claude-skills --skill knowledge-base-builder -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/knowledge-base-builder/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OneWave-AI/claude-skills --skill knowledge-base-builder -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OneWave-AI/claude-skills --skill knowledge-base-builder -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install OneWave-AI/claude-skills knowledge-base-builder
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OneWave-AI/claude-skills --skill knowledge-base-builder -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/OneWave-AI/claude-skills --path knowledge-base-builder
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OneWave-AI/claude-skills --skill knowledge-base-builder -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/OneWave-AI/claude-skills/tree/HEAD/knowledge-base-builder/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find recurring questions in a ticket export
- draft a knowledge base article for a common issue
- lay out a step-by-step tutorial and mark screenshot spots
- write a script for a short how-to video
- rewrite headings so users find the article in search

## Example prompts
- Go through these support tickets and list the questions that come up most
- Turn that into a step-by-step tutorial and tell me where screenshots go
- Draft a short video script for this walkthrough and a search-friendly title
