## What it does

The skill runs an interactive prompt builder. First it asks which generation mode you want: text-to-video, image-to-video, a multi-shot sequence of 2-6 shots up to 15s, or a keyframe transition. Then it gathers scene details through `AskUserQuestion`: subject, action timeline, environment, camera movement, light sources, mood, audio, duration and aspect ratio.

What comes out is a prompt built on a master formula: scene, subject and appearance, action timeline, camera movement, audio and atmosphere, technical specs. The skill ships reference tables for camera moves (dolly push-in, whip-pan, rack focus, FPV drone and more), lens and film stock, lighting and color grade. For dialogue it asks you to label characters, anchor lines to physical action and assign a voice tone.

The reasoning behind it: Kling 3.0 reads cinematic direction, not keyword lists. So instead of "dramatic lighting" the skill tells you to name the source — flickering neon, candlelight, golden hour. Keep in mind that multi-shot sequences cap at 15s, and keyframes must match in color and lighting or the cut will look off.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --skill kling-3-prompting -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/kling-3-prompting/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --skill kling-3-prompting -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --skill kling-3-prompting -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill kling-3-prompting
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --skill kling-3-prompting -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --path skills/kling-3-prompting
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill --skill kling-3-prompting -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/aedev-tools/kling-3-prompting-skill/tree/HEAD/skills/kling-3-prompting/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a text-to-video prompt from scratch
- animate a reference image with camera motion
- break a scene into 2-6 timed shots
- describe a start-frame to end-frame transition
- stage dialogue with character labels and voice tone

## Example prompts
- Help me write a Kling 3.0 prompt: a Tokyo street at night, the hero walks toward a neon sign
- Build a 15s multi-shot scene: a corridor chase, three shots
- Assemble a keyframe transition prompt, lighting and color must match

## Overview

Kling 3.0 is a unified multimodal video model. It understands **cinematic direction**, not keyword lists. Write prompts like a director — describe what the audience sees, hears, and feels over time.

**Core shift:** Description → Direction. Think "direct a scene" not "describe an image."

## Interactive Builder Workflow

When invoked, guide the user through these steps using `AskUserQuestion`:

```dot
digraph builder {
  "1. Generation mode?" [shape=diamond];
  "Text-to-Video" [shape=box];
  "Image-to-Video" [shape=box];
  "Multi-Shot Sequence" [shape=box];
  "Keyframe Transition" [shape=box];
  "2. Gather scene details" [shape=box];
  "3. Assemble prompt" [shape=box];
  "4. Present & refine" [shape=box];
  "1. Generation mode?" -> "Text-to-Video";
  "1. Generation mode?" -> "Image-to-Video";
  "1. Generation mode?" -> "Multi-Shot Sequence";
  "1. Generation mode?" -> "Keyframe Transition";
  "Text-to-Video" -> "2. Gather scene details";
  "Image-to-Video" -> "2. Gather scene details";
  "Multi-Shot Sequence" -> "2. Gather scene details";
  "Keyframe Transition" -> "2. Gather scene details";
  "2. Gather scene details" -> "3. Assemble prompt";
  "3. Assemble prompt" -> "4. Present & refine";
}
```

### Step 1: Determine Generation Mode

Ask the user which mode:
- **Text-to-Video** — prompt from scratch
- **Image-to-Video** — animate a reference image
- **Multi-Shot Sequence** — 2-6 shot storyboard (up to 15s)
- **Keyframe Transition** — start frame → end frame with interpolated motion

### Step 2: Gather Scene Details

Ask about each element (adapt questions to mode):

| Element | Question | Why it matters |
|---------|----------|----------------|
| **Subject** | Who/what is the focus? Specific appearance details? | Anchors consistency — define distinguishing traits early |
| **Action** | What happens? Describe the timeline (first → then → finally) | Kling 3.0 excels at sequential action over 15s arcs |
| **Environment** | Where? Be specific (not "a street" but "narrow Tokyo alley, steam from grates") | Grounds the scene physically |
