## What it does

The skill is split into ten reference files, and the agent loads only the one your task needs: realm and user management, client configuration, authentication and SSO, authorization and RBAC, LDAP/AD federation, security hardening, high availability, troubleshooting, integration examples. The root file holds a quick start with deployment options — standalone for development, production with PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes via the operator or Helm charts.

Common tasks come with step lists. Create an OIDC client and set exact redirect URIs, no wildcards. Turn on MFA by duplicating the Browser flow and adding an OTP or WebAuthn authenticator. Connect LDAP with a search base such as `ou=users,dc=example,dc=com` and configure mappers for attributes. For production the skill lists what it treats as required: SSL/TLS, a password policy of 12+ characters, brute force protection, short access tokens, MFA on admin accounts, event logging.

One piece of advice worth following: keep applications out of the master realm and give each app or environment its own. The troubleshooting section covers three failures — a user who cannot log in, a token that fails validation, an LDAP sync that stalls — with checks for each.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --skill keycloak-administration -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/keycloak-administration/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --skill keycloak-administration -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --skill keycloak-administration -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow keycloak-administration
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --skill keycloak-administration -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --path skills/keycloak-administration
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow --skill keycloak-administration -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/DauQuangThanh/hanoi-rainbow/tree/HEAD/skills/keycloak-administration/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- run Keycloak in Docker or on PostgreSQL for production
- set up SSO for an app through an OIDC client
- enable MFA and bind the flow to a realm
- connect LDAP/AD and map user attributes
- find out why token validation fails

## Example prompts
- Create an OIDC client for our app and set redirect URIs without wildcards
- Enable MFA by duplicating the Browser flow and make OTP required
- Add an LDAP provider with search base ou=users,dc=example,dc=com
