## What it does

The skill instructs agents to structure student handouts, practice exercises, lab forms, and gap-closure sheets before layout happens. The process begins with generating `content_and_design.md`. This document establishes learning targets, compact directions, response contracts, and a shared registry so values remain consistent across every question.

Content stays separated from layout mechanics. The agent outlines items alongside their intended input styles—blank lines, checkboxes, diagram labels, or paragraph boxes—while K2F compiles typography and grid placement. If an answer key or teacher note is needed, the skill isolates it into a distinct section rather than blending it with student prompts.

Without the core `k2f` skill installed, you cannot export the final document: `k2f-worksheet` only produces the blueprint, while the K2F engine handles package building and PDF compilation.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-worksheet -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/k2f-worksheet/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-worksheet -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-worksheet -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install suzheng/k2f k2f-worksheet
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-worksheet -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/suzheng/k2f --path skills/education/k2f-worksheet
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-worksheet -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/suzheng/k2f/tree/HEAD/skills/education/k2f-worksheet/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- Blueprint printable practice worksheets with dedicated response areas
- Build structured graphic organizers or lab data recording sheets
- Maintain a shared fact registry to prevent question discrepancies
- Separate teacher answer keys from learner-facing task pages

## Example prompts
- Create a one-page physics worksheet on circuits with space for student diagrams
- Draft a printable text analysis organizer with a claims table and reflection box
- Build a 10-problem fractions drill worksheet and generate an answer key outline

name: k2f-worksheet
description: Design printable, fill-in-ready worksheets—practice sets, graphic organizers, lab records, reflections, or gap-closure forms—from learning goals and source material. Use when the user asks for a worksheet, handout with answer spaces, practice problems, graphic organizer, or structured questions students complete in class or at home. Create worksheets with AI-native design and the highest aesthetic standards, powered by the K2F format and engine. Purpose-built for AI agents, K2F lets them focus on semantic content and design intent while automatically handling layout, typography, and formatting complexity.

# K2F Worksheet — AI-Native Aesthetic Design

## Purpose

Teach agents to blueprint a **worksheet** before layout: a single learner-facing task surface with scannable instructions, well-scoped items, and intentional response space—without essay dumps, duplicate prompts, or items that cannot be answered from what the sheet provides.

## Built on K2F

This skill produces worksheets as `.K2F` packages. Follow the **k2f** skill for authoring: unpack or init a workspace, edit the semantic tree, run pack/verify, then export. K2F keeps agents on *meaning* (sections, items, response types)—not pixel coordinates—while the engine compiles layout, typography, and theme.

Before you build, install the core skill: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`.

## When to Use

- Educators need practice, rehearsal, or application aligned to a lesson, unit, or standard.
- The user wants structured blanks, organizers, short constructed responses, or checklists—not a full lesson plan (**k2f-lesson-plan**) or course overview (**k2f-syllabus**).
- Analyst-style gap worksheets: turn messy inputs into categorized, answerable question blocks (inspired by gap-analysis patterns)—still learner- or facilitator-completable on paper.

## Workflow

### Step 1. Generate the content_and_design.md

One blueprint for **what** appears on the sheet and **how** it should scan when printed. Register shared facts once; reference them from every item so the k2f skill can map sections without silent drift.

**Sub-steps**

1. **Route & clarify** — Infer subject, grade band, duration, and worksheet type (drill, scaffolded practice, lab/data, reflection, organizer, gap-closure). Ask at most two high-leverage questions (e.g., target standard, with/without answer key); default item count and difficulty from context.

2. **Learning frame** — Title, optional standard or skill gist (≤10 words), and **what success looks like** in one sentence. State prerequisites or materials the sheet assumes (textbook page, prior lesson, calculator)—not repeated per item.

3. **Information architecture** — Layer top to bottom:
   - **Orientation** (brief): purpose and how to use the sheet; no teaching lecture.
