## What it does

The skill walks the agent through two steps. First it writes `content_and_design.md` — one blueprint covering quote type, parties, number and dates, validity, a line table with qty and unit price, a reconciled total, boundaries, and design intent. Then that blueprint becomes a `.K2F` package and gets exported.

There are hard gates. No quote number, dates, currency, reconciled total and stated validity means no send-ready document. Every figure traces back to what the user supplied or to a formula written in the doc. The agent does not invent rates, VAT or payment terms — missing inputs get flagged for the user instead. Narrative, priced facts and legal notes sit in separate labeled sections, so a buyer never mistakes interpretation for committed scope.

The skill runs on the K2F format and engine, so the base skill comes first: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`. After that the agent handles meaning — parties, option tiers, totals — while the engine compiles layout, typography and theme. Conflicting amounts or currencies in the source data will stop the blueprint at verification.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-quotation -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/k2f-quotation/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/k2f-quotation/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-quotation -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/k2f-quotation/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-quotation -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/k2f-quotation/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install suzheng/k2f k2f-quotation
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/k2f-quotation/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-quotation -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/suzheng/k2f --path skills/business/k2f-quotation
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/k2f-quotation/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-quotation -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- draft a quote from scope notes and a rate card
- reconcile a line table down to one total
- present good / better / best tiers that stay comparable
- keep the client's verbatim ask separate from your priced response
- surface validity and exclusions where a buyer will see them

## Example prompts
- Turn these scope notes and rates into a client-ready quotation
- Rebuild this quote — the total doesn't reconcile, check the math and validity date
- Lay out three package tiers from my table and add an exclusions block

# K2F Quotation — AI-Native Aesthetic Design

## Purpose

Teach agents to blueprint **commercial quotations** before layout: a scannable offer story, reconciled pricing, explicit boundaries (what is in / out), and design intent that foregrounds **value, total, and validity**—without inventing rates, deliverables, or legal terms the user did not supply.

## Built on K2F

This skill produces quotations as `.K2F` packages. Follow the **k2f** skill for authoring: unpack or init a workspace, edit the semantic tree, run pack/verify, then export. K2F keeps agents on *meaning* (parties, scope roles, option tiers, totals)—not pixel coordinates—while the engine compiles layout, typography, and theme into consistent output across PDF and other formats.

Before you build, install the core skill: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`.

## When to Use

- Drafting a new quote from a brief, RFP excerpt, discovery notes, or a rate card.
- Rebuilding a generic AI quote so scope, math, and validity read as one coherent offer.
- Presenting **good / better / best** tiers or optional add-ons the user already defined.

## Workflow

### Step 1. Generate the content_and_design.md

Single blueprint for semantic content and aesthetic intent. Use labeled blocks the **k2f** skill can map to regions later.

**Sub-steps**

1. **Quote type & decision frame** — Fixed price, time-and-materials cap, milestone-based, or tiered packages. Note currency, locale formatting, tax treatment (inclusive/exclusive/unknown), and whether this is binding or indicative. Omit sections the type does not need (e.g., skip acceptance block on a rough ballpark).

2. **Party & identity** — Seller and client names, addresses, contacts, logo intent. Registration or tax IDs **only if user provided**. Never fabricate signatures or authorized signatory names.

3. **Reference metadata** — Quote number, issue date, **valid-until** date (or explicit validity rule). Project name, RFP/PO reference, version (v1, v2). One currency for the whole document; flag missing validity before layout.
