## What it does

The skill produces contracts as `.K2F` packages. An agent first writes a `content_and_design.md` blueprint: agreement type, parties, a defined-terms block, clause order, exhibits and the execution block. The K2F engine then compiles layout, typography and theme, so the agent stays on meaning instead of pixel coordinates.

Several gates are enforced. Drafting side is mandatory: if it is unclear which party you draft for, the skill stops and asks, because guessing inverts the risk allocation. Missing material topics such as a liability cap or data processing get flagged rather than filled with market-standard wording. Registration numbers, insurance limits and fee amounts are never invented.

Install the core first: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`. k2f-contract is a layer on top, and without the core the package will not build. The blueprint states plainly that it is not legal advice and that binding language needs qualified counsel.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-contract -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/k2f-contract/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/k2f-contract/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-contract -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/k2f-contract/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-contract -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/k2f-contract/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install suzheng/k2f k2f-contract
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/k2f-contract/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-contract -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/suzheng/k2f --path skills/legal/k2f-contract
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/k2f-contract/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-contract -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- draft an NDA from deal notes
- restructure a messy email thread into numbered articles
- move long tables into Exhibit A and Schedule 1
- consolidate scattered definitions into one block
- check that the liability cap does not contradict the indemnity

## Example prompts
- draft an MSA from these terms, I'm the supplier
- reformat this NDA draft into a signable structure with exhibits
- build a SOW with milestones, acceptance and a change process

name: k2f-contract
description: Draft commercial agreements (NDA, MSA, SOW, SaaS, vendor) from user terms and deal context—signature-ready layout, counsel review required, no invented law. Use when the user asks to draft, author, template, or format a contract or agreement (not review-only). Create contracts with AI-native design and the highest aesthetic standards, powered by the K2F format and engine. Purpose-built for AI agents, K2F lets them focus on semantic content and design intent while automatically handling layout, typography, and formatting complexity.

# K2F Contract — AI-Native Aesthetic Design

## Purpose

Teach agents to blueprint **contracts** before layout: agreement frame, party roles, consistent clause stack, and formal hierarchy for navigation and signing—without fabricating parties, amounts, governing law, or positions the user did not supply.

## Built on K2F

This skill produces contracts as `.K2F` packages. Follow the **k2f** skill for authoring: unpack or init a workspace, edit the semantic tree, run pack/verify, then export. K2F keeps agents on *meaning* (articles, defined terms, exhibits, signature blocks)—not pixel coordinates—while the engine compiles layout, typography, and theme into consistent export-ready output.

Before you build, install the core skill: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`.

## When to Use

- Authoring a new NDA, MSA, SOW, SaaS order form, vendor agreement, or amendment from deal notes or a playbook.
- Reformatting messy draft text into a signable structure with exhibits and defined terms.
- Turning approved commercial terms into a polished agreement for counterparty circulation (counsel review still required).

## Workflow

### Step 1. Generate the content_and_design.md

Single blueprint for semantic content and aesthetic intent. Use labeled blocks the **k2f** skill can map to articles and pages later.

**Sub-steps**

1. **Agreement frame** — Type (NDA, MSA, SOW, license, SaaS, procurement, etc.), effective date logic, and **which party you draft for** (supplier, customer, licensor, licensee). State governing jurisdiction and currency **only if user provided**. Omit entire article families the type does not need (e.g., skip payment schedules on a mutual NDA).

2. **Parties & recitals** — Legal names, entity types, addresses, and defined short names. Recitals: background facts from user inputs only—no invented deal size or strategic narrative. Flag missing signatory authority or entity details as `NEEDS USER CONFIRMATION`.

3. **Defined terms block** — Centralize capitalized terms used across articles (Services, Deliverables, Confidential Information, Fees). One definition per term; no duplicate glossaries in body text.

4. **Clause architecture (include / cut / order)** — Plan articles before drafting prose. Default stack; trim per frame:
```
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 0177da39adf457ef tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
