## What it does

This skill turns an RFP excerpt, discovery note, or solution brief into a structured business proposal. It plans the story around CLOSE: context, the cost of inaction, the outcome, the solution, and user-supplied evidence. The executive summary is designed to stand on its own, while pricing boundaries and next steps stay easy to find.

The workflow starts with `content_and_design.md`, which holds semantic content and visual intent. The `k2f` skill then maps that blueprint into a `.K2F` package, runs packing and verification, and exports the finished document. Each phase gets an objective, activities, deliverables, and success criteria, with inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and client dependencies kept explicit.

It does not invent budgets, rates, case studies, or payment terms. Incomplete calculations are marked `NEEDS USER CONFIRMATION`. The core `k2f` skill must be installed first, or the proposal workflow will stop before the K2F package is built: run `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-business-proposal -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/k2f-business-proposal/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-business-proposal -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-business-proposal -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install suzheng/k2f k2f-business-proposal
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-business-proposal -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**

gemini skills install https://github.com/suzheng/k2f --path skills/business/k2f-business-proposal
```
### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works
### OpenCode
**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f-business-proposal -a opencode
```
### Claude.ai
**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills
Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/suzheng/k2f/tree/HEAD/skills/business/k2f-business-proposal/SKILL.md
## When to use it
- turn a discovery brief into a client-facing proposal
- organize delivery into phases with measurable success criteria
- separate scope, exclusions, assumptions, and dependencies
- surface investment terms and concrete next steps
## Example prompts
- Turn this discovery brief into a business proposal and write the blueprint to `content_and_design.md`.
- Rework the proposal around CLOSE, with phased delivery, deliverables, success criteria, and explicit scope boundaries.
- Use the `k2f` skill to build and verify a `.K2F` package from `content_and_design.md`, then export the client-ready document.
description: Turn briefs and discovery notes into persuasive business proposals with a decision-ready narrative, phased solution, and clear investment for executives who skim first. Use when the user asks for a business proposal, project proposal, commercial offer, or client-facing pitch (not a full legal SOW). Create business proposals with AI-native design and the highest aesthetic standards, powered by the K2F format and engine. Purpose-built for AI agents, K2F lets them focus on semantic content and design intent while automatically handling layout, typography, and formatting complexity.
# K2F Business Proposal — AI-Native Aesthetic Design
## Purpose
Teach agents to blueprint **business proposals** before layout: a self-contained story that earns trust, scopes deliverables, and surfaces price clearly—without inventing budgets, rates, case studies, or terms the user did not supply.
## Built on K2F
This skill produces business proposals as `.K2F` packages. Follow the **k2f** skill for authoring: unpack or init a workspace, edit the semantic tree, run pack/verify, then export. K2F keeps agents on *meaning* (section roles, narrative arc, tables)—not pixel coordinates—while the engine compiles layout, typography, and theme into consistent export-ready output.
Before you build, install the core skill: `npx skills add suzheng/k2f --skill k2f`.
## When to Use
- Drafting a project or services proposal from RFP excerpts, discovery notes, or a solution brief.
- Rebuilding a generic AI proposal so executive summary, scope, and pricing tell one coherent story.
- Preparing a formal offer where **validity**, **inclusions/exclusions**, and **next steps** must be explicit.
## Workflow
### Step 1. Generate the content_and_design.md
Single blueprint for semantic content and aesthetic intent. Use labeled blocks the **k2f** skill can map to sections later.
**Sub-steps**
1. **Proposal frame** — Audience (buyer vs evaluator), engagement type (fixed, phased, retainer), and desired decision. Set **valid-until** (default 30 days if user silent). Omit sections the frame does not need.
2. **Cover & metadata** — Title, optional subtitle, client organization and contact, your firm and contact, date, version. One currency throughout; flag locale formatting if known.
3. **Narrative spine (CLOSE)** — Plan flow before drafting sections:
   - **Context**: their situation in their language (from user inputs).
