## What it does

\`jira-syntax` prepares text for Jira’s wiki markup instead of Markdown. It covers headings, lists, links, tables, code blocks, issue links, and user mentions. The package also includes templates for bug reports and feature requests, with sections suited to each document type.

Before content is posted, run `scripts/validate-jira-syntax.sh` on the file. Validation must remain a separate step rather than being chained to the posting command. That matters because the script checks the markup; it does not submit the Jira content.

Use `jira-communication` for API actions. This skill is for authoring, formatting, templates, and syntax checks.

## Requirements
- Works with: Jira

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add netresearch/jira-skill --skill jira-syntax -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/jira-syntax/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add netresearch/jira-skill --skill jira-syntax -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/jira-syntax/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot
