## What it does

The skill owns network fetches on the Auto Setup path and nothing else. Extracting archives, initializing source trees, registering documents and editing the active target profile belong to `jetson-init-image`, `jetson-init-source` and `jetson-link-docs`. Do not expect a ready-to-flash tree when it finishes.

It pulls the release list from the Jetson Linux archive page and asks you to pick a concrete token such as `R36.4.4` or `38.2`. A family placeholder like `R38.x` gets rejected, and the skill will not silently swap your requested release for a supported one. If the version does not match the active platform, you either pick another release or confirm an override with a reason. Artifacts land where the next setup steps look for them: the BSP tarball and sample rootfs in `Image`, `public_sources.tbz2` and `x-tools.tbz2` in `Downloads`, the guides in `Documents`.

Before touching the disk it prints a plan: release and release page, a summary of the active platform, source URL and destination for every artifact. When everything is downloadable or already present, it proceeds without an extra prompt. It stops to ask when a file would be overwritten, an artifact needs a pasted link, a download requires browser or EULA handling, or disk space cannot be verified. No active target profile means no download at all.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill jetson-download-bsp -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/jetson-download-bsp/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill jetson-download-bsp -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill jetson-download-bsp -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install NVIDIA/skills jetson-download-bsp
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill jetson-download-bsp -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/NVIDIA/skills --path skills/jetson-download-bsp
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill jetson-download-bsp -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/NVIDIA/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/jetson-download-bsp/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- download the BSP tarball and sample rootfs for a chosen Jetson Linux release
- place public_sources.tbz2 and x-tools.tbz2 in the right workspace folders
- pick a concrete release instead of a family placeholder
- collect Developer Guide and User Guide links alongside the artifacts
- check free disk space before the download starts

## Example prompts
- download the BSP for the active target, release R36.4.4
- prepare Jetson Linux artifacts in the workspace via Auto Setup
- show me the fetch plan for BSP and docs before downloading

# Download BSP Artifacts

`jetson-download-bsp` owns network fetches for the Auto Setup path.
It does not extract archives, initialize source trees, register documents,
or edit the active target profile. Those remain owned by
`jetson-init-image`, `jetson-init-source`, and `jetson-link-docs`.

## When to invoke

- `/jetson-quick-start` selected `Auto Setup`.
- The user wants NVIDIA BSP artifacts downloaded into the current
  workspace before running setup skills.

## Inputs and outputs

Resolve the active profile per
[`../../context/target-platform-contract.md`](../../context/target-platform-contract.md).
Refuse if no active profile exists.

Follow the shared
[`quick_start_prefill` contract](../../context/bsp-customization-workflow.md#quick_start_prefill-contract).
When invoked by `/jetson-quick-start`, this skill consumes
`quick_start_prefill.mode` and `quick_start_prefill.download.bsp_release`
as the requested release when present. Missing or invalid prefilled values
are not fatal, but a concrete release is required before any download
starts.

Use the workspace root as the parent of `target-platform/`. Place files
where downstream setup skills already search:

| Artifact | Destination |
|---|---|
| Jetson Linux BSP tarball | `<bsp_image.root_path or workspace/Image>/Jetson_Linux_R<ver>_aarch64.tbz2` |
| Sample rootfs tarball | `<bsp_image.root_path or workspace/Image>/Tegra_Linux_Sample-Root-Filesystem_R<ver>_aarch64.tbz2` |
| `public_sources.tbz2` | `<workspace>/Downloads/public_sources.tbz2` |
| `x-tools.tbz2` | `<workspace>/Downloads/x-tools.tbz2` |
| Developer Guide | `<documents.root_path or workspace/Documents>/` |
| User Guide | `<documents.root_path or workspace/Documents>/` |

Do not write `bsp_image:`, `source:`, or `documents:` blocks. The next
setup skills will register derived metadata after extraction or user
confirmation.

## Procedure
