## What it does

Reach for this skill when you are writing or debugging JavaScript for Node.js or the browser, chasing down async behaviour, or moving old code onto current ES standards. The agent starts by pinning down runtime targets and constraints, then picks an async style and module system, writes the code with error handling in place, and checks performance against compatibility.

What you get is a set of instructions, not runnable scripts. The skill also states where it stops: no TypeScript architecture guidance, nothing for non-JS runtimes, no backend architecture calls. If your question is about how a service should be shaped rather than about the code itself, this is the wrong tool.

The approach favours `async/await` over promise chains, functional patterns where they fit, and bundle size when the code ships to a browser. Expected output includes modules with clean exports, async code guarded against race conditions, Jest tests, and a polyfill plan. JSDoc comments are part of the deal.
