## What it does

This skill guides the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) following the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. It provides structured YAML templates for defining the ISMS scope, covering physical locations, cloud infrastructure, assets, and exclusions.

The risk assessment workflow uses an asset-based formula: Risk equals Likelihood multiplied by Impact on a 1 to 5 scale. It categorizes total scores from 1 to 25 into acceptance (1–4), mitigation (5–14), and escalation (15–25), linking entries directly to Annex A controls like A.5.15 and A.8.28. The skill also structures the Statement of Applicability (SoA) for organizational and technical controls.

Because the controls follow the 2022 revision structure, teams migrating from ISO 27001:2013 will need to remap their existing control references.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill iso27001-compliance -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/iso27001-compliance/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill iso27001-compliance -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill iso27001-compliance -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills iso27001-compliance
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill iso27001-compliance -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --path compliance/frameworks/iso27001-compliance
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill iso27001-compliance -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills/tree/HEAD/compliance/frameworks/iso27001-compliance/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- define the ISMS scope and boundary statements
- calculate asset risk scores using a 1 to 5 likelihood and impact scale
- generate a Statement of Applicability based on Annex A controls
- map mitigation actions to controls like A.8.28 and A.5.15

## Example prompts
- Define an ISMS scope template for our AWS SaaS application
- Calculate inherent and residual risk for a source code repository threat
- Draft a Statement of Applicability entry for control A.5.1

# ISO 27001 Compliance

Implement an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

## When to Use

- Establishing an ISMS for the first time in an organization
- Preparing for ISO 27001 certification audit
- Conducting risk assessments and developing risk treatment plans
- Creating the Statement of Applicability (SoA)
- Transitioning from ISO 27001:2013 to the 2022 revision
- Meeting customer or regulatory requirements for ISO 27001 certification

## ISMS Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle

```yaml
pdca_cycle:
  plan:
    - Define ISMS scope and boundaries
    - Establish information security policy
    - Conduct risk assessment
    - Develop risk treatment plan
    - Produce Statement of Applicability
    - Obtain management approval and commitment
    - Define security objectives and metrics
  do:
    - Implement selected Annex A controls
    - Deploy technical security controls
    - Conduct security awareness training
    - Document all procedures and processes
    - Implement incident management process
    - Establish supplier security management
  check:
    - Conduct internal audits (at least annual)
    - Perform management review meetings
    - Monitor and measure control effectiveness
    - Review incident trends and near misses
    - Assess compliance with legal requirements
    - Evaluate security metrics against objectives
  act:
    - Address nonconformities with corrective actions
    - Implement continual improvement initiatives
    - Update risk assessment based on changes
    - Refine controls based on audit findings
    - Communicate improvements to stakeholders
```

## ISMS Scope Definition

```yaml
isms_scope:
  template:
    organization: "Company Name, Ltd."
    scope_statement: |
      The ISMS covers the design, development, operation, and support of
      the Company's cloud-based SaaS platform, including all supporting
      infrastructure, personnel, and processes at the following locations.
    included:
      locations:
        - "Primary office: 123 Main Street, City, Country"
        - "AWS us-east-1 and eu-west-1 regions"
        - "Remote workers accessing corporate systems"
      business_processes:
        - "Software development and deployment"
        - "Cloud infrastructure management"
        - "Customer data processing and storage"
