## What it does

The skill evaluates recent device metrics using a Z-score statistical check. It invokes `npx -y -p @claude-flow/plugin-iot-cognitum@1.0.0 cognitum-iot anomalies DEVICE_ID` using the provided target device identifier.

It sorts detected issues into explicit categories: `spike`, `flatline`, `drift`, `oscillation`, `pattern-break`, or `cluster-outlier`. When the calculated anomaly score climbs above 0.9, the agent recommends quarantining the hardware.

Diagnostics persist to agent memory through `mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_store` under the `iot-anomalies` namespace. The workflow fails immediately if `npx` is unavailable or if the core memory MCP tool is missing from the environment.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill iot-anomalies -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/iot-anomalies/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/iot-anomalies/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill iot-anomalies -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/iot-anomalies/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill iot-anomalies -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/iot-anomalies/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install ruvnet/ruflo iot-anomalies
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/iot-anomalies/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill iot-anomalies -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/ruvnet/ruflo --path plugins/ruflo-iot-cognitum/skills/iot-anomalies
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/iot-anomalies/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add ruvnet/ruflo --skill iot-anomalies -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- calculate Z-scores across recent device telemetry
- classify metric anomalies into spikes, drift, flatlines, or oscillations
- verify telemetry health before advancing canary firmware rollouts
- flag erratic hardware for quarantine when anomaly score exceeds 0.9

## Example prompts
- Check device `seed-dev-42` for telemetry anomalies
- Run metric diagnostics on `seed-891` before advancing canary firmware
- Classify abnormal metric readings coming from `seed-node-03`

Run Z-score anomaly detection on a device's recent telemetry.

Steps:
1. `npx -y -p @claude-flow/plugin-iot-cognitum@1.0.0 cognitum-iot anomalies DEVICE_ID`
2. Review detected anomaly types (spike, flatline, drift, oscillation, pattern-break, cluster-outlier)
3. If score > 0.9, recommend quarantine
4. Store anomaly pattern for learning:
   `mcp__plugin_ruflo-core_ruflo__memory_store({ key: "iot-anomaly-DEVICEID", value: "TYPE at SCORE", namespace: "iot-anomalies" })`
