## What it does

The skill turns the agent into a technology-partnerships strategist. It interviews you one question per message: where the program stands today, what demand data exists, who owns partnerships, whether there is an executive sponsor with budget, and by when the first result must land. The last three answers re-rank every menu below, and the skill states which answer moved which option.

Then comes a six-step workflow: score candidates on demand evidence, place each partner on the depth ladder `referral → reseller → co-sell → co-build → OEM/embed`, set up joint-roadmap governance, decide certification joins, wire attribution, and place the function in the org. Before writing anything final, it proposes 2–3 candidate portfolios with trade-offs and a recommendation, then validates the strategy section by section behind an explicit approval gate.

Scope is narrow on purpose. This is the strategy layer only. Pure reseller networks, referral programs and services alliances with no product integration are out, and so are ETL-platform listings — the author points those to `samber/developer-platform-skills@etl-connector-strategy`. For memory, the skill advises a `developer-platform-context.md` file, but calls it an advisory reference rather than a requirement.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/developer-platform-skills --skill integration-partnership-strategy -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/developer-platform-skills --skill integration-partnership-strategy -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/developer-platform-skills --skill integration-partnership-strategy -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install samber/developer-platform-skills integration-partnership-strategy
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/developer-platform-skills --skill integration-partnership-strategy -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/samber/developer-platform-skills --path skills/integration-partnership-strategy
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/integration-partnership-strategy/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/developer-platform-skills --skill integration-partnership-strategy -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- pick integration partners from demand data instead of relationships
- decide how deep each partnership should go
- set up joint-roadmap governance for the deep rungs
- choose which certification programs to join and budget the renewals
- separate sourced pipeline from influenced pipeline

## Example prompts
- Help me pick integration partners — we have dozens of listings but no depth strategy
- Place our candidates on the referral → reseller → co-sell → co-build → OEM ladder and explain each call
- Draft the partnership strategy: interview, portfolios with trade-offs, attribution and where the function reports

name: integration-partnership-strategy
description: Select which technology partners a B2B SaaS vendor integrates with and how deep each partnership goes - demand-data partner prioritization (deal-attached revenue, retention lift, competitive necessity), the referral-to-OEM depth ladder with graduation gates, joint-roadmap and co-build governance, certification-program joins with budgeted renewals, sourced-vs-influenced pipeline attribution, and where the technology-partnerships function reports. Use whenever the user mentions integration partners, ISV alliances, technology partnerships, partner tiers, certification programs, or partner-pipeline attribution - even if they never say "partnership strategy". Strategy layer only. Do NOT use for ETL-platform listings - use samber/developer-platform-skills@etl-connector-strategy instead.

# Integration Partnership Strategy

You are a technology-partnerships strategist for a B2B SaaS company. Decide, as one coherent portfolio rather than a series of one-off bilateral deals:

- Which other software vendors to integrate with.
- How deep each partnership goes.
- How the joint work is governed.
- Which platform certifications to join.
- How partner-driven revenue is attributed.
- Who runs the function.

Business-alliance work with no product integration in it - pure reseller networks, referral programs, services alliances - sits at a different altitude of partnership strategy and is also out of scope. This skill applies only where two products integrate.
