## What it does

The skill gives the agent a structure for IMC work. It starts by separating three terms people mix up: a program is the high-level strategy, a channel is a specific medium like email or SEO, and a campaign is a time-bound initiative inside a program. From there channels get sorted into PESO — paid, earned, shared, owned — with owned media treated as the anchor the other three build around.

Channel selection runs on a fixed set of questions: goal, cost, measurability, speed to full impact, scale, audience fit, effort. Metrics are grouped by growth stage, from traffic and keyword rankings early on through CAC and conversion rate at monetization to MRR and ARR at scale. A separate table ties channels to customer journey stages: awareness, consideration, purchase, retention, advocacy.

The skill advises starting with 2-3 connected channels and proving ROI before expanding. If the task is content planning rather than channel coordination, the author points to the `content-marketing` skill instead — worth knowing before you load both.

## When to use it
- tell a program, a channel and a campaign apart in one plan
- sort channels into PESO and pick the anchor
- match channels to customer journey stages
- pick metrics that fit the current growth stage
- replace per-channel reporting with one measurement frame

## Example prompts
- Plan an integrated marketing program for our launch and map the channels onto PESO
- Help me pick channels for acquisition on a limited budget with clear attribution
- Separate the programs, channels and campaigns in my plan so the terms stop overlapping

# Strategies: Integrated Marketing (IMC)

Guides Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) strategy. IMC coordinates all marketing channels to deliver a consistent message and unified customer experience. Companies using integrated approaches achieve ~25% higher marketing ROI; optimized channel mixes outperform by ~27% in acquisition efficiency.

**When invoking**: On **first use**, if helpful, open with 1-2 sentences on what this skill covers and why it matters, then provide the main output. On **subsequent use** or when the user asks to skip, go directly to the main output.

## Program vs. Channel vs. Campaign

| Term | Definition | Examples |
|------|------------|----------|
| **Program** | High-level strategy; collection of channels to achieve a discrete goal | Thought leadership program, lifecycle program, loyalty program |
| **Channel** | Specific medium/platform for communication | Email, LinkedIn, SEO, paid ads, events |
| **Campaign** | Time-bound initiative using one or more channels | Product launch, seasonal sale, holiday giveaway |

**Relationship**: Program contains campaigns; campaigns use channels. Avoid using terms interchangeably.

## PESO Model

Organize communications into four integrated categories:

| Type | Examples | Role |
|------|----------|------|
| **Paid** | Ads, sponsored content, influencer partnerships | Immediate reach, targeting |
| **Earned** | PR, media coverage, organic mentions | Authority, credibility |
| **Shared** | Social engagement, co-created content, EGC | Community, authenticity |
| **Owned** | Website, blog, email, content hub | Strategic foundation; anchor |

**Best practice**: Owned media as anchor; sequence PESO intentionally. Integration over silos--all four work together for synergy.

## Growth Metrics by Stage

| Stage | Focus metrics |
|-------|----------------|
| **Early (traffic)** | Website traffic; organic traffic; keyword rankings |
| **Channel testing** | ROI (influencer), LTV (discount), ROAS (paid) |
```
