## What it does

The skill fires when you ask the agent to add sign-in, pull rows from a table, push a file into a bucket or wire up checkout. It carries a module reference for the SDK: database CRUD with filters and pagination, auth with OAuth and password reset, storage uploads plus bucket RLS policies, edge function calls, OpenRouter requests for chat and embeddings, realtime subscriptions, transactional HTML email, and Stripe or Razorpay payments.

Setup starts with `npm install @insforge/sdk@latest` and an env file. The variable prefix follows your framework: `NEXT_PUBLIC_INSFORGE_URL` and `NEXT_PUBLIC_INSFORGE_ANON_KEY` in `.env.local` for Next.js, `VITE_*` for Vite, `PUBLIC_*` for Astro and SvelteKit. The URL lives in the `oss_host` field of `.insforge/project.json`; the anon key comes from `npx -y @insforge/cli secrets get ANON_KEY`. Then you call `createClient({ baseUrl, anonKey })`.

Server-only code that needs admin access uses `createAdminClient({ apiKey })`. That key grants full project access, so keep it off the client. And keep env files out of git — add `.env`, `.env.local` and `.env*.local` to `.gitignore`. The skill covers client integration only; tables, migrations, function deploys and payment provider keys belong to `insforge-cli`.

## Requirements
- Works with: AWS, Terraform, Stripe

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add InsForge/insforge-skills --skill insforge -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/insforge/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/insforge/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add InsForge/insforge-skills --skill insforge -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/insforge/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add InsForge/insforge-skills --skill insforge -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/insforge/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install InsForge/insforge-skills insforge
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/insforge/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add InsForge/insforge-skills --skill insforge -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/InsForge/insforge-skills --path skills/insforge
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/insforge/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add InsForge/insforge-skills --skill insforge -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/InsForge/insforge-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/insforge/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- add email and OAuth sign-in to a frontend
- fetch a paginated list with filters
- upload a file and make the bucket readable
- sell a monthly subscription through Stripe Checkout
- send a welcome email after signup

## Example prompts
- add auth with @insforge/sdk to my Next.js app
- upload avatars to InsForge Storage and make the bucket public
- wire up Stripe Checkout for a monthly subscription

  Use this skill when writing app code with InsForge or @insforge/sdk: database CRUD, auth, storage uploads/storage RLS, functions, OpenRouter AI, realtime, emails, Stripe or Razorpay payments, or pointing S3-compatible tooling (aws CLI, AWS SDKs, rclone, Terraform, boto3) at InsForge Storage. # InsForge App Integration Skill

This skill covers **client-side SDK integration** using `@insforge/sdk`. For backend infrastructure operations (creating tables, inspecting schema, deploying functions, secrets, managing storage buckets, configuring payment provider keys/catalog, website deployments, cron job and schedules, logs, etc.), use the **insforge-cli** skill.

## Quick Setup

### 1. Install the SDK

```bash
npm install @insforge/sdk@latest
```

### 2. Set up environment variables

Before using the SDK, create a `.env` file (or `.env.local` for Next.js) in your project root with your InsForge URL and anon key.

#### How to get your URL and anon key

1. **Ensure the project is linked.** Check for `.insforge/project.json` in the project root.
   - Generate it with `npx -y @insforge/cli link` for an existing project or `npx -y @insforge/cli create` for a new project.

2. **Get the anon key** via the CLI:

   ```bash
   npx -y @insforge/cli secrets get ANON_KEY
   ```

3. **Get the URL** from the `oss_host` field in `.insforge/project.json` (e.g., `https://myapp.us-east.insforge.app`).

4. **Write both values** to the `.env` file using the correct framework prefix (see table below).

> **Important:** Use the anon key for user-scoped SDK clients, including SSR. For privileged server-only app code that needs admin/service access, use `createAdminClient({ apiKey })`; the API key is a full-access admin key, equivalent to a service role key on other platforms.

Use the correct environment variable prefix and access pattern for your framework:

| Framework                     | `.env` file  | Variables                                                   | Access Pattern                              |
| ----------------------------- | ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| **Next.js**                   | `.env.local` | `NEXT_PUBLIC_INSFORGE_URL`, `NEXT_PUBLIC_INSFORGE_ANON_KEY` | `process.env.NEXT_PUBLIC_*`                 |
````
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 01ad057d34f39626 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
