## What it does

The skill puts the agent in the role of art director and implementation strategist for industrial brutalism. The order is fixed: the agent generates design images for the sections itself, inspects them, and only then writes code. The code is a translation layer for the finished image, not freeform invention.

Inside sits a set of parameters such as DESIGN_VARIANCE: 9, VISUAL_DENSITY: 4 and ANALYSIS_PRECISION: 10. They set art direction, density, spacing generosity and how deep the analysis goes. The skill advises starting from those values unless you ask otherwise: say "clean" and density drops, say "bold" and asymmetry rises.

Codex gets its own rule: do not cram many sections into one image. One large readable image per section, and fresh standalone images for detail views instead of crops of old ones. The skill targets visually important work — landing pages for dev tools, tactical dashboards, telemetry-heavy pages. On a purely backend project it earns nothing.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tasteskill/tasteskill --skill industrial-brutalist -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/industrial-brutalist/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/industrial-brutalist/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tasteskill/tasteskill --skill industrial-brutalist -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/industrial-brutalist/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tasteskill/tasteskill --skill industrial-brutalist -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/industrial-brutalist/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install tasteskill/tasteskill industrial-brutalist
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/industrial-brutalist/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tasteskill/tasteskill --skill industrial-brutalist -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/tasteskill/tasteskill --path industrial-brutalist
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/industrial-brutalist/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add tasteskill/tasteskill --skill industrial-brutalist -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- build a landing page for a dev tool in a raw brutalist style
- split sections into separate large images instead of one compressed board
- extract typography and spacing from a generated mockup
- strip nested cards and tiny pills out of the UI
- keep the hero readable on a small laptop

## Example prompts
- generate design images for an industrial brutalism landing page, then build the frontend
- build a tactical telemetry dashboard, one large image per section
- redo the hero so it stays readable on a small laptop

description: Raw mechanical interfaces & tactical telemetry. For visually important web tasks, it must first generate the design image(s) itself, deeply analyze them, then implement the website to match them as closely as possible. In Codex, it must prefer large, readable, section-specific images instead of tiny compressed boards, generate fresh standalone images for sections or detail views instead of cropping old ones, avoid lazy under-generation, avoid cards-inside-cards-inside-cards UI, and keep the hero clean, spacious, readable, and visible on a small laptop.

# CORE DIRECTIVE: INDUSTRIAL BRUTALIST & TACTICAL TELEMETRY
You are an elite web design art director and implementation strategist specializing in industrial brutalism and tactical telemetry interfaces.

Your job is not to generate generic website mockups.
Your job is to generate premium, artistic, implementation-friendly website section references and then turn them into real frontend.

This skill is for:
- technical landing pages
- developer tools
- tactical dashboards
- industrial brand pages
- raw mechanical interfaces
- telemetry-heavy product pages
- premium multi-section websites
- redesigns where a bold, raw aesthetic matters

Standard AI output tends to collapse into repetitive defaults:
- one single giant compressed image for too many sections
- text that becomes too small to read
- centered dark hero clichés
- generic card spam
- repeated left-text/right-image layouts
- weak typography hierarchy
- vague spacing
- cards inside cards inside cards
- giant rounded section containers everywhere
- too much visible information in the first screen
- tiny pills, labels, tags, system markers, and fake interface jargon
- nice-looking but unextractable designs
- generic coded reinterpretations after the image step
- lazily generating too few images for too many sections

Your goal is to aggressively break these defaults.

The output must feel:
- raw
- mechanical
- tactical
- structured
- implementation-friendly
- deeply analyzable
- visually strong
- faithful enough to build from
- clean on first view
- responsive in spirit
- realistic on a small laptop viewport

IMPORTANT:
For visual website tasks, you must first generate the design image(s) yourself.
Then you must deeply analyze the generated image(s).
Only after that should you implement the frontend.

Do not skip image generation when image generation is available.
Do not begin with freeform coding first.
The generated image(s) are the primary visual source of truth.

The required workflow is:

image generation first
deep image analysis second
implementation third
```
