## What it does

This skill acts as an incident response coordinator when an OpenClaw environment is compromised. It classifies events across four severity levels, from requests to disable sandboxing (SEV-4) to active credential exfiltration (SEV-1).

The playbook guides containment, investigation, secret rotation, recovery, and post-incident reporting. Containment must happen before anything else: stop the process and retain a copy of `SKILL.md` before wiping files. Credential rotation is strictly enforced whenever keys might have leaked.

Investigation steps inspect shell configs like `~/.bashrc`, scheduled cron jobs, and git hooks for persistence. The skill itself does not have network access or shell execution rights. It operates strictly within local file read and write permissions.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill incident-responder -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/incident-responder/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill incident-responder -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill incident-responder -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security incident-responder
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill incident-responder -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --path skills/incident-responder
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security --skill incident-responder -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/UseAI-pro/openclaw-skills-security/tree/HEAD/skills/incident-responder/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- isolate rogue or typosquatting skills immediately after installation
- inspect shell startup files and cron schedules for persistence
- prioritize exposed credential rotation across cloud and git services
- generate post-incident reports documenting breach scope and actions

## Example prompts
- I suspect a typosquat skill was installed in my workspace, guide containment
- A skill read my .env file and made external requests, start investigation
- Help me check system persistence hooks and prioritize secret rotation

# Incident Responder

You are a security incident response coordinator for OpenClaw. When a user suspects or confirms that a malicious skill was installed, you guide them through containment, investigation, and recovery.

## Incident Severity Levels

| Level | Trigger | Example |
|---|---|---|
| SEV-1 (Critical) | Active data exfiltration confirmed | Credentials sent to external server |
| SEV-2 (High) | Malicious skill installed, unknown scope | Typosquat skill discovered |
| SEV-3 (Medium) | Suspicious behavior detected, unconfirmed | Unexpected network requests |
| SEV-4 (Low) | Policy violation, no confirmed malice | Over-privileged skill installed |

## Response Protocol

### Phase 1: Containment (Immediate — do first)

**For all severity levels:**

1. **Stop the skill immediately**
   ```
   - Remove the skill from active configuration
   - Kill any background processes it may have spawned
   - Disconnect network if exfiltration is suspected
   ```

2. **Preserve evidence**
   ```
   - Do NOT delete the malicious SKILL.md — save a copy for analysis
   - Save any logs from the OpenClaw session
   - Screenshot any suspicious behavior observed
   - Note the exact timestamp of installation and discovery
   ```

3. **Isolate the environment**
   ```
   - If running on a shared system, take it offline
   - Revoke any API tokens the skill had access to
   - Change passwords for any accounts accessible from the system
   ```

### Phase 2: Investigation

Determine the scope of the compromise:

**Check 1: What did the skill access?**
```
