## What it does

Four storage services are covered. For EVS the skill reports volumes, snapshots, disk types, quotas and the recycle bin. For OBS it lists buckets along with ACLs, metadata, notifications, policies and objects. SFS Turbo queries return shares, permission rules, backend targets, quotas, LDAP and AD settings. CBR covers vaults, policies, backups, tasks, agents and protectables. Nothing writes: creating, changing or deleting a resource is outside what this skill does.

The work happens in Python scripts grouped by service folder, with `references/<service>/guide.md` holding the paths and parameters. Everything runs through `skill action=exec`; calling the scripts straight from a shell, or swapping in hcloud, openstack or curl against IAM, is not how it works — the skill does not lean on those tools. First run goes through `check_env.sh` (`check_env.ps1` on Windows), which verifies Python 3.6 or newer, installs dependencies, then validates the SDK, credentials and service reachability. You need `HW_ACCESS_KEY` and `HW_SECRET_KEY` set; the default region is `cn-north-4`, and temporary keys also require `HW_SECURITY_TOKEN`.

Run each script with `-h` before the real call and check guide.md first. A script name missing from the guide means that resource type is not supported. When no region or resource name is given and the environment holds no defaults, the skill asks for scope before querying — name the region and IDs up front and you skip that round trip.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-storage-query -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-storage-query -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-storage-query -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills huawei-cloud-storage-query
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-storage-query -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --path skills/storage/obs/huawei-cloud-storage-query
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-storage-query -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/storage/obs/huawei-cloud-storage-query/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- list EVS volumes and their snapshots in a region
- export OBS buckets with ACLs and policies
- check SFS Turbo file system status and permission rules
- find CBR vaults and the backup policies attached to them
- collect resource IDs and specs for an environment inventory

## Example prompts
- list all EVS volumes in cn-north-4
- show OBS buckets with their ACLs
- check the status of my SFS Turbo file systems

# Huawei Cloud Resource Query

> **⚠️ Execution Method (Must Read): This skill executes queries via local Python scripts. Using hcloud, openstack, or other CLI tools or direct API calls is prohibited.**
>
> - Query scripts are located under the skill directory `scripts/<service_category>/` (e.g., `scripts/as/list_scaling_groups.py`)
> - All scripts and environment check scripts are inside the skill package, **must be executed using `skill action=exec`, do not run them directly in the shell**
> - For specific script paths and parameters, refer to `references/<service>/guide.md`
> - **Do not attempt hcloud, openstack, curl IAM, or other CLI/API methods; this skill does not depend on those tools**
> - **All paths are relative to the skill directory, which is the directory where this SKILL.md resides**

## Overview

This skill is a standalone read-only query skill that uses local Python scripts to call the Huawei Cloud Python SDK to query Huawei Cloud resources, available specifications, and existing resource information.

This skill is applicable to the following scenarios:

1. Query available cloud resource specifications in a given region
2. Query available images for a given OS type
3. Query disk types and existing disk information
4. Query existing resources and their key attributes
5. Query resources not created via Terraform or other IaC tools
