## What it does

The skill covers the management plane of CES and EPS: alarm rules and their details, alarm history, alarm templates, dashboards, notification masks, resource groups, one-click alarms, plus enterprise projects — list, detail, quotas, bound resources and migration records. Queries run through local Python scripts under the skill directory, one per service category, with parameters documented in `references/<service>/guide.md`.

Raw metric data points are out. There is no wrapper around `ShowMetricData`, `BatchListMetricData` or `ListMetrics`, so time-series values like RDS CPU load over an hour or EVS disk throughput over a day are not available here. Metric values for `SYS.RDS`, `SYS.DCS`, `SYS.DMS`, `SYS.EVS`, `SYS.ELB` and `SYS.ECS` are outside the scope too — use the console or the CES API for those. Scripts exist only under `scripts/ces/` and `scripts/eps/`.

You need `HW_ACCESS_KEY` and `HW_SECRET_KEY` before the first query. Region comes from `HW_REGION_NAME`, which defaults to `cn-north-4`. Run the environment check first: `skill action=exec: bash skill://scripts/check_env.sh` on Linux and macOS, or `skill action=exec: powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File skill://scripts/check_env.ps1` on Windows. It checks Python 3.6 or newer, installs dependencies, then validates the SDK, credentials and service availability. Do not run the scripts straight from a shell — they go through `skill action=exec`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-monitoring-query -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-monitoring-query -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-monitoring-query -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills huawei-cloud-monitoring-query
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-monitoring-query -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --path skills/monitoring/ops/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/huawei-cloud-monitoring-query/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-monitoring-query -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- check which alarm rules are active in a project
- walk through alarm history for a given period
- review dashboards and notification masks before a change
- pull quotas and bound resources for an enterprise project
- find resources that were not created through IaC

## Example prompts
- list the CES alarm rules in region cn-north-4
- show alarm history for the last day
- show quotas and bound resources for the enterprise project

# Huawei Cloud Resource Query

> **⚠️ Execution Method (Must Read): This skill executes queries via local Python scripts. Using hcloud, openstack, or other CLI tools or direct API calls is prohibited.**
>
> - Query scripts are located under the skill directory `scripts/<service_category>/` (e.g., `scripts/as/list_scaling_groups.py`)
> - All scripts and environment check scripts are inside the skill package. **You must use `skill action=exec` to execute them. Do not run them directly in a shell.**
> - For specific script paths and parameters, refer to `references/<service>/guide.md`
> - **Do not attempt hcloud, openstack, curl IAM, or any other CLI/API methods. This skill does not depend on those tools.**
> - **All paths are relative to the skill directory, which is the directory where this SKILL.md is located.**

## Overview

This skill is a standalone read-only query skill that uses local Python scripts to call the Huawei Cloud Python SDK to query Huawei Cloud resources, available specifications, and existing resource information.

This skill is applicable to the following scenarios:

1. Query available cloud resource specifications in a specific region
