## What it does

This skill creates scheduled TIMER triggers for existing FunctionGraph functions. Its `scripts/create_trigger.py` script accepts a function URN, trigger name, schedule, `Cron` or `Rate` type, status, and optional event data. It checks that the target function exists and validates the parameters before making the API call.

You need Python 3.9+, `huaweicloudsdkfunctiongraph`, and the `HUAWEI_AK`, `HUAWEI_SK`, `HUAWEI_REGION`, and `HUAWEI_PROJECT_ID` environment variables. Missing access keys stop the script before an API request. Check credentials and region before running it.

On success, the script prints JSON with the trigger ID, schedule, and status. It also returns errors such as `FunctionNotFound`, `TriggerAlreadyExists`, or `TriggerLimitExceeded` when creation cannot proceed.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --path skills/computing/functiongraph/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/computing/functiongraph/huawei-cloud-functiongraph-trigger-create/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create a TIMER trigger for a FunctionGraph function
- schedule function execution with Quartz Cron
- set recurring execution with `Rate`
- verify a function URN before trigger creation
- read the ID of a created trigger

## Example prompts
- Create a TIMER trigger for `urn:fss:cn-north-4:project_id:function:default:my-function:latest` with schedule `0 0 2 * * ?`.
- Set up a `Rate` trigger named `every-5min` with the value `5m` for this function.
- Create a disabled trigger named `daily-trigger` and pass extra data through `--user-event`.

# Overview

This skill enables the creation and configuration of scheduled triggers (TIMER type) for Huawei Cloud FunctionGraph functions. It supports Quartz Cron expression format for flexible scheduling configurations.

The trigger allows automatic execution of serverless functions at specified time intervals, making it ideal for:

- Periodic data processing tasks
- Scheduled backup operations
- Regular monitoring and health checks
- Time-based notification systems

# Prerequisites

Before using this skill, ensure the following requirements are met:

1. **Python Environment**: Python 3.9+ installed
2. **SDK Installation**: Install FunctionGraph SDK: `pip install huaweicloudsdkfunctiongraph`
3. **Environment Variables**: Configure the following environment variables:
   - `HUAWEI_AK`: Huawei Cloud Access Key
   - `HUAWEI_SK`: Huawei Cloud Secret Key
   - `HUAWEI_REGION`: Target region (e.g., `cn-north-4`)
   - `HUAWEI_PROJECT_ID`: Project ID
4. **FunctionGraph Function**: Target function must already exist in the specified region
5. **Network Access**: Stable network connection to Huawei Cloud API endpoints

# Workflow（工作流）

The complete workflow for creating a scheduled TIMER trigger consists of the following steps:

**Step 1: Load environment variables and authenticate（加载环境变量/鉴权）**

The script reads the following environment variables at startup:

- `HUAWEI_AK`: Huawei Cloud Access Key (required)
- `HUAWEI_SK`: Huawei Cloud Secret Key (required)
- `HUAWEI_REGION`: Target region, defaults to `cn-north-4`
```
