# huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management

Runs the full lifecycle of Huawei Cloud CCI containers from the command line: namespaces, networks, deployments, pods, logs. Useful when you want a serverless container without managing a cluster.

## What it does

The skill walks an agent through CCI work with the `hcloud` CLI (KooCLI). The order matters: create a namespace, then a network, then a Deployment, StatefulSet or Pod, check status and logs, and add an EIPPool if the pod needs a public IP. Cleanup runs in reverse.

Several rules bite if you skip them. Every namespace needs the `namespace-kubernetes-io/flavor` annotation set to `general-computing` or `gpu-accelerated`, or creation fails. Container `limits` must equal `requests`, otherwise CCI returns a mismatch error. Networks come before workloads — deploy first and pods sit in Pending. The VPC subnet CIDR must stay out of `10.247.0.0/16`, which CCI reserves for Service networking.

Network creation can't go through a plain command: `hcloud` won't pass annotation keys containing dots, so the skill ships `scripts/cci_network_helper.py`. That script authenticates with `HW_ACCESS_KEY` and `HW_SECRET_KEY`, separate from the CLI's own credentials. If those keys lack CCI network permissions, it fails with a 403. You need `hcloud` version 7.2.2 or newer and configured AK/SK.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --path skills/container/cci/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills --skill huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/container/cci/huawei-cloud-cci-instance-management/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- spin up a serverless container on Huawei Cloud CCI without a cluster
- create a namespace with the required flavor annotation
- deploy a Deployment or StatefulSet and check pod status
- pull container logs and metrics from the terminal
- attach a public IP to a pod through EIPPool

## Example prompts
- Create a CCI namespace with the general-computing flavor and show me the command first
- Deploy this workload into that namespace and confirm the pods are Running
- Show me the recent logs from that CCI pod

# Huawei Cloud CCI Container Instance Lifecycle Management

## Overview

Manage Huawei Cloud CCI (Cloud Container Instance) full lifecycle using hcloud CLI (KooCLI). CCI is a serverless container service — no cluster management needed, just create a Namespace, define a Network, then deploy workloads directly.

**Architecture**: hcloud CLI → CCI OpenAPI → Namespace / Network / Deployment / StatefulSet / Pod / EIPPool / Service / Ingress

## Constraints and Rules

### Security Rules

- **Two-step confirmation**: All destructive operations (delete Namespace/Network/Deployment/StatefulSet/Pod/EIPPool) require explicit user confirmation — preview command, resource details, and risk warning first; execute only after user confirms.
- **Credential security**: Never expose AK/SK values in conversation, commands, or output. Only use `hcloud configure list` to check credential status (presence only). Prefer profile mode or environment variables over explicit AK/SK parameters.

### Resource Constraints

- **Namespace flavor annotation is mandatory**: Every namespace must carry `namespace-kubernetes-io/flavor` annotation (value: `general-computing` or `gpu-accelerated`). Without it, creation fails.
