## What it does

The `growth` skill handles the non-code side of an app business: user acquisition, analytics, press and media, community, and indie operations. Six sub-skills sit inside, each owning one area.

\`store-growth-audit` walks an app through a 54-item P0–P9 playbook. Every item gets scored from an App Store Connect read, a codebase check, or a direct question, then routed to the skill that fixes it. The audit is read-only and works for live apps and pre-launch ones alike. `store-signals` closes the post-launch loop: reviews, analytics, sales, crashes and listing conversion become a metric-tagged backlog, and last cycle's changes get checked against the metric they promised to move. The other four — `analytics-interpretation`, `press-media`, `community-building` and `indie-business` — cover DAU/MAU, retention curves, LTV/ARPU, the AARRR funnel, press kits and pitch timing, community platforms, and entity setup.

The skill asks where you are in the growth stage and picks the matching set: pre-launch gets the audit and a press kit, just-launched gets baseline metrics, growing gets the monthly signals loop. Its allowed tools are `Read`, `Glob`, `Grep`, `AskUserQuestion` and `WebSearch`, so journalist and blogger hunting runs through the web. No App Store Connect access means you answer the audit questions by hand instead.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --skill growth -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/growth/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/growth/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --skill growth -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/growth/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --skill growth -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/growth/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills growth
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/growth/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --skill growth -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --path skills/growth
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/growth/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills --skill growth -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/rshankras/claude-code-apple-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/growth/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- read app metrics and decide what to fix first
- prepare a press kit and pitch journalists at launch
- turn reviews and crashes into a metric-tagged backlog
- pick a community platform and a content calendar
- sort out business entity setup and app revenue taxes

## Example prompts
- run store-growth-audit on my app and show what fails
- look at my App Store Connect metrics and tell me where the funnel drops
- help me build a press kit and find bloggers for launch

# Growth Skills

Growth skills for indie Apple developers — from analytics interpretation to press outreach to community building. Covers the non-code aspects of building a sustainable app business.

## When This Skill Activates

Use this skill when the user:
- Asks about growing their app or user acquisition
- Wants to understand app metrics or analytics
- Asks about press/media outreach or getting reviews
- Wants to build a community around their app
- Asks about indie business operations (LLC, taxes, hiring)
- Mentions growth strategy, marketing, or user engagement
- Wants data-driven guidance on what to improve next

## Available Skills

### store-growth-audit/
Stage-by-stage audit of an app's App Store growth machinery against a 54-item P0–P9 playbook — every item scored from an ASC read, a codebase check, or an explicit question, then routed to the skill that fixes it. Read-only; works for live apps (audit) and pre-launch apps (growth plan).

### store-signals/
Close the post-launch loop — turn a live app's App Store signals (reviews, analytics, sales, crashes, listing conversion) into a metric-tagged backlog, and verify whether last cycle's changes moved the metric they promised to move.

### analytics-interpretation/
Interpret app metrics and make data-driven decisions. Covers DAU/MAU, retention curves, LTV/ARPU, App Store Connect analytics, funnel analysis (AARRR), cohort analysis, and decision trees for what to fix based on which metric is underperforming.

### press-media/
Get press coverage and media attention for your app. Covers press kit preparation, finding relevant journalists/bloggers/YouTubers, pitch timing and embargo strategy, indie developer story angles, and email templates for outreach.

### community-building/
