## What it does

This skill provides workflow patterns for Gmail automation. It can filter messages by sender, subject, or attachments; send files to Google Drive; apply labels; mark messages as read; and archive processed email. Notifications can go to Slack or email.

Its invoice flow covers message detection, PDF extraction, data recognition, Drive storage, and spreadsheet updates. Other patterns sort client and project messages, while the analytics setup tracks received and sent messages, unread counts, attachment counts, and response time.

The skill uses the `google-workspace-mcp` MCP server with Gmail and Google Drive tools. Check access to that server first, because the workflows depend on it for mailbox and Drive actions.

## Requirements
- Works with: Gmail, Google Drive, n8n

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill gmail-workflows -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/gmail-workflows/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill gmail-workflows -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill gmail-workflows -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install claude-office-skills/skills gmail-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill gmail-workflows -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills --path gmail-workflows
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill gmail-workflows -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/gmail-workflows/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- save Gmail attachments to Google Drive
- label and archive processed messages
- collect invoice files from email
- sort client messages by project
- produce reports from email metrics

## Example prompts
- “Set up a Gmail workflow that saves PDF attachments to Google Drive and archives the message.”
- “Create an invoice workflow from Gmail to a spreadsheet and Google Drive.”
- “Add Gmail labeling rules for project-related client email.”

# Gmail Workflows

Automate Gmail with intelligent workflows for attachment management, email organization, and Google Drive integration. Based on n8n's 7,800+ workflow templates.

## Overview

This skill helps you design and implement Gmail automation workflows that:
- Automatically save attachments to Google Drive
- Organize emails with smart labeling
- Archive processed emails
- Send notifications via Slack/Email
- Track email metrics

## Core Workflow Templates

### 1. Gmail Attachment Manager

**Purpose**: Automatically extract attachments from emails and save to Google Drive

**Workflow Steps**:
```
┌─────────────┐    ┌─────────────┐    ┌─────────────┐    ┌─────────────┐
│ Gmail       │───▶│ Filter by   │───▶│ Extract     │───▶│ Upload to   │
│ Trigger     │    │ Criteria    │    │ Attachments │    │ Google Drive│
└─────────────┘    └─────────────┘    └─────────────┘    └─────────────┘
                                                                │
                         ┌─────────────┐    ┌─────────────┐    │
                         │ Send        │◀───│ Apply Label │◀───┘
                         │ Notification│    │ & Archive   │
                         └─────────────┘    └─────────────┘
```

**Configuration**:
```yaml
trigger:
  type: gmail_new_email
  filters:
    has_attachment: true
    from: ["*@company.com", "*@vendor.com"]
    subject_contains: ["invoice", "report", "contract"]
actions:
  - extract_attachments:
      file_types: [pdf, xlsx, docx, csv]
      max_size_mb: 25
  - upload_to_drive:
