## What it does

The skill creates and maintains `gjkim_instruction.md` at the project root. The file records the effort’s goal, its smallest required outcomes, explicit non-goals, and decisions the user has approved. Each recorded decision includes a date and a short reason.

A section for unresolved choices can be added when useful. Implementation specifics, task tracking, progress notes, and speculative designs stay outside the root brief. If a library or schema has not been approved, the skill leaves it undecided, so an early guess does not become a rule for later iterations.

It is available for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. Claude Code installation uses `npx` and the `gjkim42/kanon-repo` repository.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/gjkim-instruction/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/gjkim-instruction/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/gjkim-instruction/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/gjkim-instruction/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install gjkim42/kanon-repo gjkim-instruction
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/gjkim-instruction/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/gjkim42/kanon-repo --path skills/gjkim-instruction
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/gjkim-instruction/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- capture the goal of a long-running agent loop
- separate outcomes from implementation choices
- record approved decisions with dates and reasons
- keep undecided options visible
- prevent early guesses from constraining later iterations

## Example prompts
- Create `gjkim_instruction.md` at the project root and add the loop goal plus its minimum required outcomes.
- Record the approved choice in `gjkim_instruction.md` with today’s date and a short reason.
- Review `gjkim_instruction.md` before the next iteration and distinguish settled points from open choices.
