## What it does

The skill fetches PR comments through the GitHub CLI: inline notes, thread replies and PR-level reviews. It then sorts them into CRITICAL, HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW, and prints a summary table with ID, file and line, type and status. Status separates fresh comments from earlier rounds by comparing timestamps against the last push.

Nothing gets changed behind your back. For each comment the skill shows context, reads the code and proposes a fix, then waits for your confirmation. If a comment touches several line ranges, all of them go into one fix. Commits follow the git-commit format, and functional fixes land as separate commits.

CodeRabbit needs extra handling. Its reviews arrive as `<details>` blocks with file paths, line ranges and severity, and some comments only surface through the review-specific endpoint, so the skill fetches them separately and merges by ID. When a block carries a "Prompt for AI Agents", the skill treats it as a hint but still reads the code itself. You need `gh` installed and authenticated, since every request goes through it.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitHub

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --skill github-pr-review -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/github-pr-review/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --skill github-pr-review -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --skill github-pr-review -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills github-pr-review
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --skill github-pr-review -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --path plugins/github-workflow/skills/github-pr-review
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills --skill github-pr-review -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/fvadicamo/dev-agent-skills/tree/HEAD/plugins/github-workflow/skills/github-pr-review/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- triage a backlog of reviewer comments and spot what actually blocks the merge
- tell new comments apart from previous review rounds
- apply a fix per comment with confirmation before each change
- reply in review threads and close the discussion
- pull CodeRabbit comments that never show up in the general list

## Example prompts
- Triage the comments on the current PR and show me the severity table
- Fix the critical comments one by one and confirm each with me
- Check that every CodeRabbit comment is addressed and reply in the threads

# GitHub PR review

Resolves Pull Request review comments with severity-based prioritization, fix application, and thread replies.

## Current PR

!`gh pr view --json number,title,state,milestone -q '"PR #\(.number): \(.title) (\(.state)) | Milestone: \(.milestone.title // "none")"' 2>/dev/null`

## Core workflow

### 1. Fetch, filter, and classify comments

```bash
REPO=$(gh repo view --json nameWithOwner -q '.nameWithOwner')
PR=$(gh pr view --json number -q '.number')
LAST_PUSH=$(git log -1 --format=%cI HEAD)
# Inline review comments - filter out replies (keep only originals)
gh api repos/$REPO/pulls/$PR/comments?per_page=100 --jq '
  [.[] | select(.in_reply_to_id == null) |
   {id, path, user: .user.login, created_at, body: .body[0:200]}]
'
# PR-level reviews with non-empty body (CodeRabbit sections, Gemini, etc.)
gh api repos/$REPO/pulls/$PR/reviews?per_page=100 --jq '
  [.[] | select(.body | length > 0) |
   {id, user: .user.login, state, submitted_at, body: .body[0:500]}]
'
```

**Cross-check review-attached comments**: CodeRabbit's review body states "Actionable comments posted: N". If the general `pulls/$PR/comments` endpoint returns fewer than N new originals from that reviewer, some comments are only available via the review-specific endpoint. Fetch them and merge by comment ID:

```bash
# $REVIEW_ID from the reviews fetch above; $EXPECTED from parsing "Actionable comments posted: N"
gh api repos/$REPO/pulls/$PR/reviews/$REVIEW_ID/comments?per_page=100 --jq '
  [.[] | select(.in_reply_to_id == null) |
   {id, path, user: .user.login, created_at, body: .body[0:200]}]
'
```

Deduplicate by `id` before continuing. Comments found only via the review-specific endpoint are valid inline comments and should be treated identically (same classification, same `in_reply_to` reply mechanism).
