## What it does

\`github-monitor` uses `gh` to inspect repositories from `memory/watched-repos.md`. Its default view checks open pull requests, recent issues, and releases, then sorts the results by urgency and records follow-up actions. A single repository can be passed to narrow the monitor.

The skill also provides an issue queue, a release digest, and a tracker for pull requests opened by the current aeon instance. `issues` accepts a repository, organization, or user scope; `releases` accepts a comma-separated repository list; `prs` reads its scope from `aeon.yml` or the environment.

Each run reads `memory/MEMORY.md` and the last 2 days of logs so repeated events can be filtered. When a `gh` request fails because of network, authentication, or repository access, that repository is logged as an error and the remaining checks continue.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitHub

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill github-monitor -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/github-monitor/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill github-monitor -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill github-monitor -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aeonfun/aeon github-monitor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill github-monitor -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon --path skills/github-monitor
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill github-monitor -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon/tree/HEAD/skills/github-monitor/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scan watched repositories for fresh issues and releases
- surface open PRs that need a human decision
- triage new issues by repository or organization
- track PRs opened by the aeon instance
- append a repository to the watch list

## Example prompts
- Run `github-monitor` and show urgent events across the watched repositories.
- Run `github-monitor issues org:anthropics` and prepare a queue of new issues.
- Run `github-monitor releases anthropics/claude-code,openai/openai-python` and summarize the recent release updates.

> **${var}** — View selector + optional scope.
> - **empty** → combined **monitor** over every repo in `memory/watched-repos.md`.
> - **`owner/repo`** (a bare repo, no view keyword) → combined **monitor** scoped to that one repo.
> - **`issues [scope]`** → new-issue triage queue. `scope` accepts `owner/repo`, `org:foo`, `user:bar`, or a bare login; empty = all repos owned by the authenticated user.
> - **`releases [repo,repo,…]`** → release upgrade-triage digest. Comma-separated repo list; empty = the built-in watch list.
> - **`prs`** → status tracker for PRs this aeon instance opened across external repos.
> - **`add-repo:<owner/repo>`** → append `owner/repo` to `memory/watched-repos.md`, confirm, and end (the shape the Telegram force-reply sends — see the config-capture note in Shared setup). No view runs.

This skill is four focused views of the same GitHub surface. The combined monitor is the default; `issues`, `releases`, and `prs` each drill into one dimension with the sibling view's own filtering, ranking, and output format. Only the `monitor` and `issues` views take a repo scope; `releases` takes a repo list; `prs` takes no scope (it reads its config from `aeon.yml`/env).

---

## Shared setup (every view)

1. Read `memory/MEMORY.md` for high-level context.
2. Read the last 2 days of `memory/logs/` — used for dedup in the `monitor`, `issues`, and `releases` views.
3. Parse `${var}` into a `VIEW` and a `SCOPE`:

```bash
RAW="$(printf '%s' "${var}" | sed -e 's/^[[:space:]]*//' -e 's/[[:space:]]*$//')"
# Config capture (Telegram force-reply): var="add-repo:<owner/repo>" appends to the watchlist,
# confirms, and ends — it is NOT a view, so it must be intercepted before the VIEW parse below.
case "$RAW" in
  add-repo:*)
    CAND="$(printf '%s' "${RAW#add-repo:}" \
      | sed -e 's#^https\?://github.com/##' -e 's/^@//' -e 's/\.git$//' \
            -e 's/^[[:space:]]*//' -e 's/[[:space:]].*$//')"
    if ! printf '%s' "$CAND" | grep -qE '^[A-Za-z0-9._-]+/[A-Za-z0-9._-]+$'; then
      ./notify "Couldn't read \"$CAND\" as a repo. Reply with owner/repo (e.g. acme/api)."
      # log: - view: add-repo (var="${var}") → BAD_VALUE
      exit 0
    fi
    mkdir -p memory; touch memory/watched-repos.md
    if grep -qiE "^[[:space:]]*-[[:space:]]*${CAND}[[:space:]]*$" memory/watched-repos.md; then
      ./notify "Already watching $CAND."
    else
      printf -- '- %s\n' "$CAND" >> memory/watched-repos.md
      ./notify "Now watching $CAND — it'll show up in the next GitHub Monitor run."
    fi
