## What it does

The skill reads `GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md`, extracts metadata (brand name, domain, overall score, dates, locations), runs the file through pandoc with a bundled template and CSS, then prints the HTML to PDF via Chrome headless. The result is a client-ready document with a dark navy cover, color-coded score cells (green ≥80, red <35), and severity-tagged finding blocks.

You need `pandoc` (install via `brew install pandoc`) and Google Chrome at `/Applications/Google Chrome.app/` — this ties the skill to macOS. No Python, ReportLab, or JSON parsing: the whole pipeline is four steps — check for the report, extract fields from markdown, call pandoc with `--embed-resources` and `--standalone`, run Chrome with `--print-to-pdf`.

The template lives in `~/.claude/skills/geo/templates/geo-report-template.html` and includes JavaScript that colors cells and adds severity borders before printing. Score thresholds, page breaks, and styling are all editable via the CSS and HTML template.

## Requirements
- Works with: Chrome

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --skill geo-report-pdf -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/geo-report-pdf/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --skill geo-report-pdf -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --skill geo-report-pdf -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude geo-report-pdf
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --skill geo-report-pdf -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --path skills/geo-report-pdf
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude --skill geo-report-pdf -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/zubair-trabzada/geo-seo-claude/tree/HEAD/skills/geo-report-pdf/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate a client-ready PDF from a GEO audit markdown report
- color-code score tables by threshold (green, blue, amber, orange, red)
- add a cover page with extracted metadata and an overall score badge
- tag finding blocks with severity-colored borders (Critical, High, Medium, Low)
- print styled HTML to PDF via Chrome headless without manual export

## Example prompts
- Make a PDF from `GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md` in the current directory
- Turn the GEO audit report into a client PDF with cover and colored tables
- Generate `GEO-REPORT.pdf` from the markdown report

# GEO PDF Report Generator (pandoc pipeline)

## Prerequisites

- **pandoc** — `brew install pandoc`
- **Google Chrome** — must be installed at `/Applications/Google Chrome.app/`

No Python dependencies. No ReportLab. No JSON data wrangling.

## How It Works

1. Read `GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md` in the current directory (created by `/geo audit`)
2. Extract cover metadata from the report (brand name, domain, GEO score, date, locations)
3. Run `pandoc` with the bundled CSS + HTML template to produce a self-contained `GEO-REPORT.html`
4. Run Chrome headless to print the HTML to `GEO-REPORT.pdf`

The pandoc template (`~/.claude/skills/geo/templates/geo-report-template.html`) injects:
- A full-bleed dark navy cover section with the GEO score badge
- Per-section cover metadata (date, business type, locations, platform)
- JavaScript that runs inside Chrome before printing to color-code score cells and severity-tag finding sections

## Workflow

### Step 1: Check for audit report

Look for `GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md` in the current directory. If absent, tell the user to run `/geo audit <url>` first.

### Step 2: Extract cover metadata from the report

Read the top of `GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md` and extract:

| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| `brand_name` | First H1 title (after "GEO Audit Report:") |
| `domain` | Second bold line (e.g. `**Domain:** alexamediasolutions.com`) |
| `geo_score` | Line matching `## Overall GEO Score: XX / 100` |
| `score_label` | Word after the score on that same line (e.g. "Poor", "Fair", "Good") |
| `date` | `**Audit Date:**` line |
| `business_type` | `**Business Type:**` line |
| `locations` | `**Locations:**` line |
| `platform` | `**CMS:**` line |

### Step 3: Run pandoc

```bash
pandoc GEO-AUDIT-REPORT.md \
  --to html5 \
  --standalone \
  --embed-resources \
  --template ~/.claude/skills/geo/templates/geo-report-template.html \
  --css ~/.claude/skills/geo/templates/geo-report-style.css \
  --metadata title="GEO Audit Report — <brand_name>" \
  --metadata brand_name="<brand_name>" \
  --metadata domain="<domain>" \
  --metadata geo_score="<geo_score>" \
````

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 9c165ca328f8f66d tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
